shabby shells skip to main skip to sidebar tuesday august 11 2009 waterside wednesday i am excited as i join with others who have a passion for waterside living my childhood was spent growing up in the west shore area of tampa bay my heart is at home by the water and i currently reside in south tampa and i live on a beautiful street lined with 1920 s bungalows this picture is bay shore blvd and it is at the end of our street from early childhood until today you could and can find my feet shuffling through the sand and my back bent over sifting through the shells for these gifts of the sea fired the passion that have made me what i am today a sea shell artist my home is a reflection of this coastal passion and i have many treasures from the sea that i will share with you on future waterside wednesdays welcome to my home this is my inspiration piece the mantel was what started my sea shell fascination and my love of shell decor i look forward to sharing more of my home with you and my art as well as the pleasure of getting to know each of you thank you barbara for hosting waterside wednesday i look forward to making the rounds today and congratulation on your wonderful new book have a perfect waterside day join barbara and others at http www barbarajacksier blogspot com good bye for now janice posted by shabby shells at 11 23 am 27 comments labels 1st waterside wednesday wednesday august 5 2009 my first post on white wednesday hi my name is janice and i am excited about joining you all today on my very first post and very first white wednesday i am a sea shell artist and so i am drawn to beautiful white shells as well as architectural pieces i will save my love for architectural finds for another post and today i will share with you a story of one of my white shells and it s special gift from the sea what i love about the shells that i have is that there is always a special memory and story that usually goes with each one i am sorry for the quality of the photo below but if you look closely you will see a little doll laying on the shell that she was found in i think everyone picks up shells and holds them to their ear but this particular shell rattled and so in rattling and shaking this precious little doll fell out who knows how long she had been there but on that day she was a very special gift to me perhaps it was a sign of the blessings that would lie ahead of me and the joy i have in my work with these beautiful objects shells inspire me i ususally have several projects going at the same time here are just a few that i have completed thank you for visiting with me today and do leave me a comment i look forward to getting to know you girls thank you to faded charm for hosting this special day you can visit her blog for a list of so many other gals who have joined in for a beautiful white wednesday see you next week janice posted by shabby shells at 10 31 am 37 comments labels white wednesday home subscribe to posts atom about me shabby shells tampa florida united states view my complete profile she sells sea shells down by bay shore summer house marketplace 3620 s manhattan ave tampa fl followers blog archive 2009 2 august 2 waterside wednesday my first post on white wednesday
