for me in 2025 ortiz was a member of the twins 1991 world series winning roster in the role of a backup catcher and the personal catcher for twins starter scott erickson he was also often cast in the role of a quirky personality or comic relief generally because english was not his first language ortiz was the catcher when rickey henderson broke the career stolen base record and when asked if it than the greatest base stealer of all time rickey henderson it s bittersweet that one of rickey s greatest moments was stuffed in my wallet all year the card definitely has made me smile every time i pulled it out looking for a loose gift card or receipt over the past 12 months rickey made an appearance at a card show in my hometown over the summer but i didn t take the chance to meet him thinking there would be many more opportunities in the future i actually thought about getting the wallet card signed but that s not possible now i want 2025 to be a year of doing the things i want to do
