eradventures skip to main skip to sidebar tuesday june 7 2011 bedtime with an infant our sweet baby dallen is now 7 months old he is just growing up so fast and then i look at braedyn who will be 7 years old in a couple of weeks and think where on earth did the time go i remember when he was dallen s size he is so big and just keeps growing i love the baby stage for some parts but other parts i am not so fond of recently i do love the new bedtime routine dallen has started i put everyone to bed around 8pm yes i am old and need my sleep when i put dallen to bed at first i get this after a minute or two his cute little babbles change to which only lasts about a minute followed by isn t he so precious posted by tambi at 8 16 pm no comments monday april 11 2011 how things change over time i have noticed as i have had children and my children get older how my ideas of things have changed 1 sleep when our children are babies 2 3 hours of sleep becomes the norm anything over 3 hours is a miracle and we talk about how great our baby slept 2 date night as soon as we started having children our idea of date night completely shifted we used to go to dinner and a movie or mini golf or bowling or basically anything out of the house our idea of a date night now watching a movie on netflix after the children have gone to sleep or just talking to each other about our day again after the children are asleep 3 cooking since having children i have had to be more creative in my cooking we used to be able to afford to go out whenever we wanted if we didn t feel like cooking or even buying food that was pretty much made and we just had to add a few ingredients or heat up fortunately my mom was very smart and taught us how to cook while we were growing up but i have had to learn how to cook more from scratch and find new recipes to keep things interesting because basically i get bored of the same foods all the time 4 cleanliness before we had any children i would freak out at the slightest bit of dirt on my floor i was a little bit ocd about cleanliness however if you have known me since i have had children you would probably never believe that about me when my oldest was a baby it took me a while to adjust to the new life of having another person to clean up after he couldn t clean up after himself very easily so it was up to me and my hubby of course it took us a little while to settle into a new routine of trying to keep a clean house while both working full time and being completely exhausted by the time we came home and wanting to spend every second we could as a little family because we just didn t get much time together we went through many different cleaning ideas and finally found one that works most of the time however with each baby we had to adjust all over again and now we are in a new phase of our parenting our 2 oldest now have jobs around the house which include cleaning i have now decided when it is one of my children s turn to clean a room it does not have to be spotless i do not need to have a panic attack when there is still a little dirt on the floor after they have swept of vacuumed as long as they did their best i turn away and clean it my way when it is my turn to clean that room posted by tambi at 11 49 am no comments thursday april 7 2011 don t you just love peer pressure so apparently i am going to be doing the walkms i mentioned it briefly in a team meeting at work and my whole team decided that would be a great idea and my boss said we would do it as a team building exercise however recently my boss found out she has to go through the surgery which i mentioned previously and she would no longer be doing the walkms so i figured nobody would do it now so i didn t have to worry about it not that i have a problem with the walkms and the whole point of it i just have a really hard time asking people for money today i received a message from a member of my team saying they still want to do the walkms so we have until the 30th of this month to raise money which is not going to be easy for me and for me to get in shape yay for me the point of my post if any of you would like to join my walkms team i would love to have you along it is on saturday april 30th check in begins at 8 00am at the gateway walkms begins at 10 00am it is approximately 3 miles again i better be getting in shape we have not setup our team yet we will be doing it next wednesday so i will post more info then if i remember posted by tambi at 11 31 am no comments tuesday april 5 2011 there are days when i think it would be so nice to switch places with my 5 month old for just a night in fact every night i think how great it would be to have his night time routine put the 2 older boys to bed get fed a bowl of rice cereal ok so that may not be the tastiest thing but still he just sits there and gets it fed to him take a bubble bath get a massage with nighttime lotion to help with sleep have a bedtime story read to you get lots of loves before being gently placed in bed watch a projection mobile with soothing music playing until peacefully falling to sleep how would it be to be a baby for just one night posted by tambi at 7 54 pm 1 comment monday april 4 2011 officially busy i love being busy it makes time go by faster and makes me feel like not a total slacker just sitting around doing nothing however there is a point when it feels like you can t really get anything done becaus eyou are too busy i m thinking the next few months may end up being just that since erek is huge into sports if this is a shock to you you do not know my hubby at all he took the liberty of taking some of our tax return to enroll our 2 oldest into a few sports programs so for the next three months we have wednesday s and saturday s flag football for braedyn in salt lake april saturday s basketball for brock may saturday s soccer for brock june saturday s t ball for brock once braedyn s flag football is over he is looking into swim lessons for all 3 boys and whatever sport happens to be running at that time for both boys on top of sports i have been put in as a cub scout leader which by the way i have no clue what i am doing all i have to say to that is thank goodness for internet and those meetings are wednesday nights also my boss is going in for surgery and will be taking 6 weeks off starting next week so she has trained me how to do her job while she is out giving me 2 ful time people s jobs to complete and requiring 3 4 meetings a week depending on the week i luv my job the good part about the timing the end of june my parents are taking us to legoland on a family vacation which happens to be at the end of everything except scouts then i won t feel so bad about lounging around and doing nothing posted by tambi at 1 01 pm 1 comment friday february 11 2011 school days my handsome cuz he can t be cute he s a 6 year old boy son was child of the week this week or the spotlight child it has been a week of totally remmbering elementary in fact a few days ago as we were putting together his little poster about him i started missing elementary and then today i am so over the elementary phase for the last day of his spotlight week the parents were invited to come have school lunch with their child do you remember school lunch ugh lunch today was a turkey sanwich on a wheat bun chocolate pudding that i m certain was sugar free milk and veggies sadly the best part of the lunch was the sandwich the only part my son didn t eat the chocolate pudding tasted like something nasty i don t really know what it tasted like cuz i ve never tasted anything like that before and i chose to not be a bad example to a group of 1st graders by chugging my milk straight from the carton so used the tiny straw they give them seriously how do they drink through that thing it takes like 5 minutes to drink the tiny carton i have decided i will stick with the adult world and eat whatever i choose from the store for lunch it s true nobody gets to see all my adorable little kid pics or know about all of my favorite things even if they don t really care but at least i get to choose pudding with time as you know i recently or i guess 6 months can t really be considered recently but we ll stick with it changed positions with my employer i moved from an enrollment counselor to a scholarship counselor i have discovered these 2 positions play very different roles with enrollment i always called every student right on time and could not be even a minute late for fear that would reflect negatively on this awesome school where anyone who wants to do online schooling should go i was always nice to students and bent over backwards to help them enroll and make it as easy as smooth as possible basically i was an awesome enrollment counselor and people were lucky to have me as a scholarship counselor things are very different my job is to work mostly with current students who are asking for a bunch of free money now instead of me telling them why they should go to this incredible school they have to plead their case for why they need a whole bunch of money when you get a job like this you literally hear every sob story in the book about how they don t have enough money to pay tuition at first i felt bad for almost everyone i spoke to and didn t have the heart to tell them no well apparently 6 months of listening to everyone s sob story makes a person or at least me not as sympathetic this week alone i have been called mean told i don t have a heart called the b word and many other names it was a shock for me to be called mean i have always been told i am too nice for my own good once i was called the b word my co worker said you are now officially part of the erek in may 2003 shortly after we were surprised with a pregnancy which ended up giving us a very handsome baby boy braedyn in june 2004 a short couple years later braedyn graduated college with me from the now uvu when i got my bs in bs ok a bachelor of science in behavioral science but that just sounds so much cooler a while later we were blessed with another amazing and yet again handsome baby boy brock in october 2007 erek and i both work full time erek works for salt lake county parks rec and i work from home for the best online university in the world western governors university
