the 3d beginner skip to main skip to sidebar the 3d beginner this is my newest blog and its all about my beginnings as a 3d artist i belong to a lot of 3d related groups so i thought it was about time that i started to do some 3d designing i finally managed to start and i m having a lot of fun if i just remember to take my time and go slowly i will be able to produce some very good 3d designs also i realize that there may be many people out there that are new to 3d designing too so follow my journey monday february 17 2014 terregen 2 below is a render that i did using terragen 2 i must say that t2 is a hard program at least for me it is to learn i also have a copy of terregen and terregen2 the main difference between terregen and terregen 2 is that the 2 version lets you add objects to your labels 2d programs free downloads let s draw friday august 31 2012 my first tutorial how to make a lot of rocks in bryce well it took me a long time to get to this point but i finally created my first tutorial it s about how to create a lot of rocks in bryce of course it took me a long time to do this tutorial but i finally got it done how did i think of this well bryce is a really great program for making 3d scenes and scenery and i have made a lot of renders but it always bothered me when i was making rocks that i would have to copy and paste the rocks over and over again if i wanted a lot of rocks in my scenes and then the idea just came to me and i tested it out first and it worked here is the link to my tutorial the tutorial is in pdf format and you should be able to download it is my 3d object of rose model 7 these are rose objects that i made in the 3d program plant studio and i imported them into my bryce 3d program plantstudio is a program that as it s name says creates all different sorts of plants and flowers and in this case even roses it is available as a free download and all you have to do is google for it it s a very good program for creating 3d plant objects but i have to warn you that this program has a lot of options you can use to edit your plants and if you re anything like me you just might spend hours playing around with this program so like i said i created the rose objects in plant studio and then i imported them into bryce i m still working deciding on a way to offer my objects as a free download that is if anyone is interested in them lol 3d programs 3dprograms bryce daz studio free downloads tuesday january 17 2012 rose 6 here is rose 06 of my roses sample collection i made these roses in plant studio and then i uv mapped them which means i added the different colors to the parts of the rose using uv mapper i m pretty sure i made the vase using s patch and i imported the vase into bryce and gave it its white color now s patch lets you export in dxf and this is a format that bryce recognizes so i was easily able to import the vase into bryce the same thing goes with the rose where plant studio lets you export in dxf format another good thing about importing the rose into bryce was that i was able to color the rose parts individually which is something a little bit more easier to do than to uv map them which takes longer and is quite a detailed thing to do i m just getting on the idea that i can upload my original creations so that others who may want to download them can do so i have already started to upload some of pinterest labels examples of my 3d art my 3d objects my rose collection monday november 28 2011 shapemagic another great free 3d program shapemagic 2 is another great free 3d program that i have found online it s a companion program to the shapemaker that i have mentioned about earlier in this blog shapemagic is indeed a very good 3d program basically what it does is create 3d objects that you can then import into your 3d programs like bryce and dazstudio when you first open the program you are presented with a side view of a randomly created 3d object which you can then tweak to make it look the way you want it to this program is very good for making 3d objects like columns and urns and vases and the like there are even tutorials provided on their main page to help show you how to make other 3d objects like jewelery and even curtains and drapes the main page is loaded with more information about the program and even provides some pre made objects that you can download and import in the program so that you can tweak them yourself i have had time to play around with this program and the only real bad thing that i can say about this program is that it is going to distract me from doing my other computer work another bad thing about this program is that i am having so much fun creating 3d objects from this program that my computer hard drive space is decreasing shapemagic is with this program and i ll provide pictures of some of the things that i have created with this program i should also mention that i was having a little bit of a problem when i first started playing around with the program but i sent the creator of the program an email and he got back to me in no time at all which i thought was very nice and very sweet turns out that the program was fine it was me that was the problem because i was trying too hard and to fast to learn the program at one sitting now that the problem is solved actually there wasn t even a problem with the program i m creating shapemagic shapemaker tuesday november 1 2011 dazstudio fairy dazstudio is a free 3d graphics program that i was able to download if you do a little checking around you will be able to find quite a number of free 3d graphics programs that you can download this free 3d program included the v3 and m3 characters which allowed me to be able to make some very good renders basically this program came with more of a fairy aspect to it it includes fairy clothes and fairy like atmospheres which provides a good starting point for me as i m learning more about 3d creating as you can see from the picture above the human female model clothes and environment are also included with the program with this program i can do many things for instance i can change the look of the female i can make here look younger or older i can even make her look different ethnic ways i can pose her body including her arms and legs to differnet posing positions i can even animate the figure though i m still learning how to do that everything that you see in the render has been provided by the dazstudio program it s a great free 3d program to help you learn more about creating 3d renders at 4 52 pm no
