growing wedge within the trans community there seems to be a rise in hatred towards trans men because of a perceived male privilege i find it odd because while i ve identified as masc for a long time the world hasn t treated me as such i ve been assaulted by people who view me as a woman even after mostly transitioning men have never treated me as a peer i know that as guys begin to pass they do begin to be treated differently but it s uncomfortable when it happens and nothing i ve asked for i understand that it s worth discussing but i ve seen so much it s impossible to be transmisandrist impossible to be transphobic to trans men because they are part of the patriarchy posts tbh it feels kinda similar to the terf rhetoric of trans men being gender traitors i wish we could all uplift each other and i don t understand how these divisions will help us trans men aren t trying to take away rights for trans women these days the people who make me feel the worst about my identity tend to be other trans people i m sorry to send you all this i suppose i m just hoping for your perspective because you are someone i look up to when it comes to deciphering life s more difficult questions there s also no pressure to answer this if it s not something you feel like getting into i haven t really seen what you re describing and don t really know what you re talking about my irl trans guy friends are well aware of the complications that come with either passing or not passing and how that affects how they re treated same as us transfems idk we mainly focus on stuff like healthcare and legal rights and of course they still experience transphobia like bhuh how is that even in contention trans men in my country can t even legally be the fathers to their kids like that is a very famous thing our supreme court did years ago to freddie a trans guy i know their healthcare outcomes are significantly worse especially in things like reproductive health just the other day i was having a conversion with a friend who s an indigenous two spirit trans man about the complicated transphobia he faces when he s at home and navigating his community s kinda acceptance kinda not of what he have seen the king included a ban on conversation therapy in his speech to parliament but i also spoke to my mp today and he do formed a trans inclusive ban is in the works i can all but guarantee you that is not going to happen not only has it been in multiple monarch s speeches before with no effect but there is simply no way to actually ban conversion therapy in this country without acknowledging that the nhs has been doing it for decades and it is now official nhs policy for trans kids thanks to this government moreover it s baked into this government s schools and education policy too an actual ban would involve such a 180 degree in policy across so many areas that i just don t believe this government will do it if this government brings forward legislation i am certain
