hot dogs it was a single bag open and loose we re talking dozens and dozens of hot dogs it was quite inconvenient to fit the entire box in my freezer as opposed to a bunch of individual packages of 6 or 8 but i finally got there i boiled some up right away frozen they smelled rather unpleasantly chemical ey but i figured it was just the smoke and hoped for the best boiled i e the lazy mate s version of steamed they tasted absolutely delicious like some of the best hot dogs i ve had in a long time they sat well too with a satisfied belly and waves of euphoria afterward usually i can t eat much hot dog meat in one go because whatever s in it does not spark joy in my stomach but these ones sat super duper nicely good quality i guess and the weird smell in their frozen state was indeed related to the smoky flavor and once prepared they re quite nice there s no nutritional information on the package so i can only guess at the sodium which i am intolerant of but no ill effects thus far the only name on the pack was the company s hempler s which actually turns out to be a local meat company in my region so that explains why the quality is so good i can definitely recommend these if you ever see them i m not sure which exact product they are as the hempler s website says they make six different kinds of franks but they look a lot like either the beef franks or the beef wieners on the walk home i was mentally calculating how much this would cost at retail i figured it had to be 50 at a bare minimum now knowing they re a local company and these are high quality beef franks i realize that it s more like 100 maybe even more though since these came in a single loose bag and were marked for institutional use i figure they d probably be priced at wholesale rather than retail this show at the time you re right about thelma being the best performance on the show the actor is anik matern and that performance is one of the all time tv greats in my opinion not only is thelma one of the best android characters in the tv sci fi genre but she s one of the only female ones thelma fills a very important sexual equality representation role because it s a kids show and thelma isn t sexualized so instead her character development is basically as creative as a male character s would be i ve long said that writers and directors and actors should study her performance in their drama schooling she s the female data honestly she s more interesting to me even than data himself i went and rewatched the show here on youtube a year or two ago and it s remarkable just how much it shares in common with original star trek including the campiness the hijinks the blend of humor and tension the fact that it had a very high budget relative to the rest of the lineup yet a comically low budget in terms of what the show was trying to do and thus the lack of enthusiasm by the suits which led to the studio quiet quitting on space cases in its final season sticking it into slow death time slots and never promoting it the show s actual contents are a mixed bag parts of it stand up really well and all but the youngest two actors really do give good performances the catalina to suzee switch gave the show real stakes and george takei as warlord shank was a thing of beauty the christa sets were really fun and inventive like you mentioned and the show s narrative ambition was outstanding but it also got a bit formulaic at points something which nick shows like pete and pete never did which is one of the reasons why they re still so watchable today also season 2 made a mistake by spending too much time off the ship and i feel like there were moments when the creators could have been a little bit braver in pushing the boundaries on mature content the best shows usually find a way to sneak it in and never underestimate the intelligence of their young audiences even if you don t get it today you will someday anyway great show anyone who reads this comment and hasn t seen the show go watch it especially if you have kids they ll love it i think you re right austin that parents would have loved watching this show alongside their kids most of them would ve
