the furry fighter skip to main skip to sidebar tuesday 16 june 2015 7 years on well i didn t get around to posting this on furry fighter day but after reading a couple of very sweet messages from jan s funny farm angel abbygrace and nanuk i thought i should write a post for my stormie the most beautiful siamese cat in the world we are still dominating google images with that phrase and the lovely people from the cat blogosphere storm the most beautiful siamese cat in the world my beloved castle storm s brother and litter mate sadly passed away on may 4th this year actually on his and storm s gotcha day anniversary of all days he was the grand old age of 19 years and 3 months old we are not sure what the cause was but he got quiet on a sunday afternoon and had to be put to sleep the next day the vet suspects issues with the bile duct maybe something ruptured due to a cancerous growth or thickening of duct tissue but thankfully it was quick and he hardly suffered spending his last night at home with me and his other meowmie and not stuck in hospital on drips and medicines he had become a distinguished cat in old age his little greying muzzle as handsome as it ever was castle as you know castle had a couple of playmates to keep him company whilst he waited to be reunited with his sister first there was timmy tantrum who shared our lives for 18 months he was a good companion for castle and they snuggled up together all the time timmy tantrum and then i found gentle old tigger he stayed with us for 4 years and reached the age of 19 years and 6 months he passed away last year on the anniversary of the day i first went to see him october 7th my boys liked their anniversaries clearly he and castle were extremely close just like castle and storm were it was incredible how they bonded tigger i feel so lucky to have had such beautiful little feline souls share my home and life it all feels very empty at the moment quiet i will adopt some more feline friends in the future but i am taking some time to remember the ones that have been part of my life for almost 20 years when storm died my grief was suppressed by my search for a friend for a grieving and pining castle to ensure he was happy and the same happened again when timmy died and when tigger died i knew in my heart that castle probably wouldn t be around for much longer so i didn t look for another furry friend for him i instead decided to spend much more time at home keeping him company and loving him as much as possible now i grieve for them all it all started with storm and castle though two adorable little kittens that stole my heart the minute i saw them way back in 1996 rest in peace my little angels i imagine you are playing together once again now with timmy and tigger joining in too we last saw you castle is an old boy now 18 5 years which you would have been too seeing as you re his sister and litter mate castle has a mild kidney issue but nothing alarming just normal for his age his friend tigger is even more ancient and just turned 19 a few months ago he also has some mild health issues kidneys hyperthyroidism and pancreatitis all normal conditions for an oldie really but he takes a couple of tablets for those and he seems active happy and well at least they are on the same special diet and can eat the same food castle absolutely ballooned on your special food when you were trying to put on weight during the chemo but i could never get you to eat separately i think you ll recognise the look on their faces in the picture below your favourite face to make chicken face anyway they are very close tigger is a very good companion for your brother but of course nothing can replace you little lady we miss you so much still sending love to our old friends in the cat pop by every now and then to say hello we are still all ok my 2nd new brofur tigger is still here he is 18 5 years now and i am now 17 5 years and to those that stumble across this blog whose cats are going through the same thing as stormie did stay strong we hope that you find some hope in what you read stormie had some excellent treatment with excellent vets and she led a very normal life for she is still very much missed and we think of her often she was such a beautiful little soul she has now been gone for three years and in that time her legacy has been to give two elderly cats a loving home in their twilight years we also hope that some people have found this blog useful when dealing with lymphoma or any other scary illness that their pet is living with we are sure stormie furry fighter about me my name is storm i was a 12 year and 4 5 month old female seal point siamese cat who was diagnosed with lymphoma is december 2006 i immediately started the madison wisconsin chemo protocol and was in remission by march 2007 after a year of remission my lymphoma came back in april 2008 my vet had found 3 tumours in my tummy and intestine area so i restarted my chemo treatment this time it was the chop protocol sadly despite making these three tumours go away my body had had enough and i became tired on june 13th 2008 i was helped to the rainbow bridge i am
