guard that one of buffy s duties is stalking vampires trying to steal blood and the thing is i don t think buffy goes about it entirely unreasonably it s framed as a sort of vampire black market whilst they re already scrambling disjointed and often in hiding so it makes sense they d take to buying emergency blood bags but still the show s vampire politics where instead of the usual monster hunting morality where either vampires are 1 unable to control their bloodlust which is why they are dangerous and need to be put down or 2 corruptive by the access to power vampirism allows them and often begin to view themselves as superior to humans it s vampires are just evil and obviously there s a lot to say on how vampirism in buffy is a sort of shadow self jekyll and hyde situation but talking on a very basic level here continues to amaze me i m halfway through s2 do they haven t quite started s deconstructing and questioning vampirism so i ll see how the show goes about it btvs lb
