tag holder for a class that i just taught yesterday for a lss this is the first tag that i created and used a stamp as inspiration the candy canes are made from fimo clay the sock was embossed using a folder from stampin up i think it s called lattice and flower soft was applied to the cuff of the sock to make it fuzzy holly was hand cut from grunge paper and a bit of stickles added along with some pearl berries a christmas poinsettia posted by kim blanchette comments 0 for those of you who like to use spellbinders here s one for you i used red vellum and embossed them using my stylus i cut two of the largest dies one medium and one small for the flower parts i poked o hole in the center of the small and medium dies so i could put the stamens through and adhere them in place i used foam dots to layer the vellum to give it dimension be careful with the placement of your foam as it will show through the vellum i put it where the vellum s overlapped just in from the edge of the petals i then cut one large die from green and cut the petals apart and tucked them in under the red for some leaves the lattice punch is from ek i made this card for a lss to show a use for red vellum when using your stylus on vellum i used a foam stamp pad underneath and applied light pressure at first and increased it until i found the ripping point of the vellum practice on a scrap piece first till you get the feel of it a sock filled with sweets posted by kim blanchette comments 0 this was card was made for a lss to showcase the stamp i won t lie to you it took a bit of time to put it together as i had to stamp it six different times to get the colours and layers the punch used to fancey up the edge is by stampin up santa wreath posted by kim blanchette thursday october 14 2010 comments 0 i will start off by apologizing for the photo the detail in the background is washed out the white base was embossed using the snowflakes from cuttlebug i cut the centre out of a paper doilie and mounted it on a piece of doodlebug black velvet paper using the martha stewart wreath punch i took three shades of green cardstock and punched about 5 wreaths from each colour after cutting the wreaths apart i layered and staggered the pieces the santa face is another martha stewart punch i punched it once using red cardstock and twice out of white using my copic markers and airbrush i coloured his face and his eyes are black rhinestones i layered his beard and hat trims to give him more dimension labels copi markers punches branches of holly posted by kim blanchette comments 0 i whipped this card up in about 5 min i used two different cuttlebug embossing folders and the martha stewart holly punch along with some dew drops the holly was punched out of basic grey jovial paper several times and layered to make a long branch labels cuttlebug embossing folders punches the bowens posted by kim blanchette monday september 27 2010 comments 0 let me introduce you to my grandparents james and madeline bowen on october 27 th they will celebrate their 65 th wedding anniversary and this layout is one of many that i have been putting together as a gift for them this layout took some time and many redos until this emerged each strip was inked and assembled and mounted on the black the clock face gears and hand are all from tim holtz and mounted in the centre of a handmade flower from the same patterned paper used in the woven piece the bottom left hand corner was an extra piece of the base cardstock that i cut to fit and embossed it with the manhattan rose from stamp n up and inked it with weathered wood to match the colour of the patterned paper from making memories the rose buds are all twisted together and woven with ribbon the font is from the song bird cartridge from cricut labels 12x12 layout just sit n posted by kim blanchette comments 0 for this card i chose the patterned paper first and i challenged myself with this colour as many people tend not to use orange but given the fact that fall is around the corner i thought let s give it a try the stamp used is from magnolia and to tie it to the patterned paper i used orange and green for the clothing colours i then used a petaloo rose and airbrushed the smaller flowers so that all the colours worked together the scroll was a die from sizzix labels copi markers older posts blogroll a touch of grace amazing paper grace
