2026 hello write edge readers yesterday i revealed in my bookreviewpreview on instagram that i would be reviewing the ginghams by debut middle grade author t c kemper today the review is now up and here s the opening to my post a pair of tweens come home from summer camp only to find their third best friend radically changed and a new creepy family living nearby as the tweens dig into how this family is connected to the personality differences in their friend and soon the entire town they realize they may be the only hope everyone has of breaking free from a scary new phenomenon author t c readers i know i know i m going to give some of you whiplash with the number of times i ve put my writing on hiatus this summer and then gone back to it but this time it s definitely on until at least august 17 i have some travel happening between now and then so it was easy to pick that date since it s the first monday after one of the trips i realized that as much as i loved the concept of my latest story i was putting so much pressure on myself to get it done that i wasn t actually able to get it done that is one thing no one talks about enough is how once you re published your brain starts to tune in more acutely to the business side of writing and how those needs and considerations start to come into conversation more with the current wip so rather than torture myself with all of that and feel miserable i decided a break was in order and the relief i felt when i gave myself that permission was the biggest indicator that i m doing the right thing what happens in august not sure right now but i can tell you this i ll absolutely keep all of you updated in the meantime go to instagram tomorrow for my bookreviewpreview to find out what i m reading for this week then come
