kind of spring festival going on and nigel was determined to see it the weather was a little miserable april showers apparently but we enjoyed ourselves he led me onto the dancefloor almost immediately and asked me to dance i guessed this was what prom was like for all those popular it girls out there i heard someone say something about voting for spring king and queen but was quickly distracted when nigel twirled me around it was such a wonderful day we even went up to the love o meter and gauged that our love is a pretty sweet match maybe this was the real thing we were having such an amazing time together we took some goofy photos together and some more romantic ones this was the best love day i d ever had now i could see what my mother s obsession with it was and as the weather turned nasty again i thought i d seal the deal we d been dating for a while now but were still technically friends after snowflake day nothing had happened between us but i just couldn t help myself i still say this was my first kiss in the rain on our first proper date i felt like i was in a taylor swift music video or something too bad she would ve been upstaged by my talent he returned the kiss with passion and we soon realised what it was that we wanted each other such a soppy tale i know but a true one the rain got too much for us though and i suggested that we headed back to my house to dry up before that he took me out for lunch at the local bistro there were roses everywhere inside and paper hearts adorned the tables he paid like a true gentleman he pulled my chair out for me and offered me his umbrella when i got into the taxi it was like a dream anyway we got home and sparks flew he stayed the night in one of the spare rooms since he was such a gentleman my first proper love day was one of the best days i d had in a very long time i just couldn t wait to see what would happen next i went back to playing my guitar with even more influence coming from nigel and our dates together i got invited to some parties towards the end of the season and even met up with a close friend of my mother s richter steele he seemed to know everything about me and i learned all about how he knew my mother and he d actually lived with her while she was pregnant with me he was married now and they seemed happy he asked about my mother but i didn t have much to tell him other than she was still married to my dad raising sienna and not aging in the slightest before i knew it summer was here and i was seeing nigel more and more i got all glammed up for summer my favourite season and prepared to spend long days outside by the pool nigel was still sending adorable love letters whenever he wasn t around and i invited him round to mine on the first night of summer he was there in a flash and i knew i had a question for him we d been dating for some weeks now and it was time to step things up i was actually quite nervous for a change and i lacked that innate certainty i always possessed would he say no of course he didn t and i tried to pretend the thought had never even crossed my mind when i heaved a massive sigh of relief my heart was pounding out of my ears and all i could do was smile i needed to get a grip if i wanted to be a soppy teenage girl i wouldn t have had the guts to ask him in the first place so from then on he was staying over more and more i d cook my famous pancake breakfast and seranade him with my guitar this was all after i d found out we had been voted spring king and queen clearly a sign that we re meant to be summer was a long one and a beautiful one there were pool parties every other afternoon and leisure day was one to remember i finished a gorgeous painting of the beach and had spent most of my time getting an equally gorgeous tan when nigel said he wanted to spend leisure day at verde park i guessed it had some kind of sentimental value but it really was hard work to tear myself away from the poolside lounger that had become my second bed that season i guessed he was worth it though and so was his little surprise that day would be one of the first to completely and totally change my life for the wonderful when i got to the park he waved at me from over by the barbecue corner and i skipped over to him he greeted me with that wonderful smile and commented on my new tan we exchanged small talk and sweet flirtations before he said he had something really important to say i watched eyes as big as saucers as he dropped to one knee and produced a beautiful diamond ring arianna from the moment we met i knew there was something special about you we were best friends for some time before we realised that that was just the beginning for us love day was pure magic being at your side seeing your beauty shine as it always does i know you can be temperamental he winked at that part and i grinned with tears in my eyes but i love you and everything about you so would you do me this honour on your favourite day of the year under the gorgeous summer sun of agreeing to become my wife i could barely hold back the tears of joy and my stupid school girl grin i nodded rapidly grinned and whispered albeit pathetically yes yes i will and before i realised what was happening i was engaged leave a comment 7 may 2014 generation 2 chapter one posted in generation 2 by lizzielilyyy so i settled in to my new castle quite quickly i lit a fire in my favourite bedroom of the five there was so much space and luxury the only problem was that i d spent all my money on the house itself i guessed i should start painting asap to cover the bills but before that i noticed i had neighbours just down the road the martin family had been around since my mother arrived in town and nigel was in the class above me at school i thought i d better introduce myself otherwise this could be a lonely winter up in the hills nigel answered the door and invited me inside he seemed really quite sweet actually i did have to coax him into realising my own greatness who knew compliments could be so difficult to get out of somebody you d have thought that with my mother being who she is that i d be recognised a little easier but he eventually cottoned on and we actually got on pretty well when i got home i realised how big and empty it was without the noise of a toddler or giggling parents in the kitchen i was deafened by the silence my heels echoed down the hall as i clipped along to prepare dinner it was after i d burned a whole bowl of macaroni and cheese that i realised i only had myself to feed that night and all the nights in the foreseeable future i was still getting used to this whole being on my own gig and guessed i hadn t grasped cooking yet it would come with time but until then i would be chomping down on some black crumbly substance that smelt like burnt cheese oh well while the silence was a little unnerving that night i made myself feel better by preparing my house for snowflake day with some lights around the house i slept relatively well too but i was quite excited to start my day afresh in a new home with a new job and the world at my feet it carried on snowing all night so i left the fire burning to keep me warm what i did forget was that back at home or my mother s home she had installed some anti flame device across the house which meant that the entire house was fireproof mine was not i ran for a shower and came back to a full scale house fire i put it out myself not wanting to draw attention to my obvious inability to cope on my own but i was determined if it was the last thing i did i would manage living alone and i would do it without any help after that minor disaster things started looking up immediately my fabulous ness clearly shone on the kitchen as i managed to cook pancakes without fail two days in a row in fact on both those days i also painted some beautiful paintings the art dealer just clearly didn t realise who he was working with one day he ll laugh at his stupidity for not snapping up my work when he had the chance pah those few days flew by and before i knew it it was snowflake day and that meant a massive family gathering at my new castle where i could fit everybody in and unwrap presents in true style i hadn t spoken to nigel for a while so i thought i d invite him and a few family friends too he politely accepted as he should and the party was truly fabulous as expected my parents and sister sienna arrived and opened their presents they got me a new guitar in case i was bored of my old one speaking of old dad was getting on a bit but still refusing to retire while mom was looking younger than ever sienna seemed quiet she complained of the lack of tv and seemed a little chubbier she had become a real lazy bones since i moved out but i loved her all the same she was a smart little angel when she wanted to be i managed to say hi to nigel and we got a pretty sweet conversation going he was a little lonely on snowflake day too and when he noticed the mistletoe he couldn t resist i couldn t blame him i looked pretty cute that day but whether it meant anything or not i didn t know i wasn t like my mother she was hopelessly romantic at the best of times but me i preferred a good make out session and didn t really psycho analyse after that the snowflake spirit was running straight through me and perhaps that snowflake juice from earlier but nigel seemed like a genuine guy not that i needed the attention everybody loved me but maybe his was different the party soon cleared out and i went back to my easel dreaming of my favourite season summer just like my mother i loved summer and the warmth it brought nigel loved winter but i thought that was kind of cute he didn t want to seem like he was copying me so he deliberately chose his favourites in contrast that night was cold and boring until i got a phone call nigel had left something at my house and wanted to come back and fetch it i said ok i might have wanted to persuade him to stay for a hot chocolate who knows hehe he came over quickly and we got talking about the snow and how nice snowflake day had been he didn t mention the kiss and there weren t any more we did have some fun though outside we made a snowman together and then he started on about the night sky and what he could see my mother had told me that was how my dad had got her attention the first night she properly met him at a party i hoped things with nigel wouldn t move quite so fast strangely he never mentioned what it was he had forgotten here and it started getting later we were curled up on the sofa together in front of the fire when i proposed he stay the night rather than walk home in the blizzard he accepted straight away obviously my fabulous hosting skills from earlier were too good to resist he attacked me with a pillow and it wasn t until gone 4am that we slept my mother had also told me a story like this before i guess i was much more like her than i thought with more talent he left early the next morning and i went back to the easel producing different works and when i got tired i d go for a run nothing was cheap or easy but the bills were getting paid and i was getting fit but i remained lonely i took to throwing parties as a way of maintaining my social connections and reminding the world how amazing i was it was at one of these formal parties that nigel who d been hanging out with me as really good friends for some time now got sick of my behaviour and outright accused me of being a diva i dispute that to this day we cleared up the argument later that evening he came and found me playing my guitar in the study away from the rest of the party he apologised for calling me out especially in front of all my guests and asked for forgiveness i refused to give in straight away and watched him squirm out the corner of my eye as i changed chords i shrugged my shoulder i guess you can be forgiven it s not like you were serious or anything right i saw him wince a little and then nod exhaustedly of course not i m just a little tired and right there and then i knew we would remain close if he could back down and accept me for who i am which isn t a diva then we d work but i did watch my mouth a little more from then on i didn t like seeing him so frustrated which was strange since with anybody else i d just drop them and move onto the next compliment happy friend i could find nigel asked me to put down the guitar apparently he wanted to take a walk outside by the pool that night we spent a lot of time in the pool alone the party dissipated without me noticing or caring that night was about just me and nigel and wherever we might end up in the future it was nearly spring and that meant he reminded me that it was arianna s birthday in the morning and he was going to arrange a big party for the evening so don t book any gigs he joked i had a slight feeling that i may have already booked something but it was bound to be a late one anyway his age was beginning to show as he struggled to hear and see things more i had tried to persuade him to retire and take it easy but he refused i thought it was more of a pride thing he didn t want to be a lazy stay at home dad while i was the main breadwinner even when i knew all too well that looking after sienna for an hour was more taxing than my job i noticed arianna s guitar playing and singing had really picked up over her high school career and she was forever strumming along when she could i had invited richter to the party and soon enough everybody had dressed up and arrived we were all so excited arianna grew up into a beautiful young woman that we were so proud of i couldn t wait to see how she would live her life as a young adult i managed to speak to richter our long distance friendship had really become something to think about for me recently and he promised to turn up for my concert that evening it was another sold out arena performance and i couldn t wait to get back on stage it truly did make my pulse race when both he and my daughter stood in the vip area at the end of the stage and watched me sing i felt the electricity of the crowd and the music pump through me as i sang my first proper hit one i had written about the both of them in the aftermath of javed s bombshell it seemed so long
