tracy helgeson skip to main skip to sidebar tracy helgeson monday october 1 2012 well i was hoping to update here by the end of the summer but summer turned out to be crazy busy i did a farmer s market each week all summer and an insanely huge garden to tend not to mention three kids to chauffeur around i also had several events including a larger one the beekman boys harvest festival in mid september to prepare for then i had to rest for a week after that in order to keep what s left of my sanity so i spent this last week spiffing up my new website actually i have been working on it off and on for months but between my schedule and the rather long learning curve for website building programs that one evidently needs at my age it took longer than i expected to get it online also my ideas about it s purpose kept shifting throughout so i often had to spend extra time reorganizing it anyhoo the painter s farm website is up and running still needs a bit of polishing a couple of photos need to be replaced that sort of thing but i suspect that it will always be a work in progress with new images updates products and inventory items that come and go etc in addition i have decided to end both my blogs and switch to a more casual one on the website which will integrate so much better with the online shop and all the other prattling on about the farm plus far fewer the conversations very well oops and finally i would like to thank all of you who have been so interested in my work i can t even put into words how much i have appreciated the support i think i will always be making art and other things whether or not anyone is paying attention but in the last few years i have learned that it is just so much more fun when there is an audience for what i make thank you posted by tracy helgeson at 2 36 pm monday march 5 2012 new small format paintings sheep study 543 6x6 oil on panel 2012 i meant to get this post up a few days ago but i had a rather hectic weekend and then it took me longer than i expected to post so many images into an album on facebook i was able to get 90 small format paintings finished for my solo show that opened at the harrison gallery on saturday in addition to 3 new larger paintings doug and i had a great time at the opening reception several of my collectors were there and it s always to meet them and spend time talking about the various connections we have it was really fun to see such a positive response to the small paintings and just as when i display them at other public events visitors seemed to really enjoy moving them around and making groupings quite a few pieces were sold the first day of the show but there are still plenty available so i am posting the link to the new images here to give my lovely friends here an opportunity to see them i will not be selling any of them on this site and so if you are interested in adding any of these paintings to your collection the sale must go through the gallery i have included their website address in the description for each piece also i will try to keep the info up to date as much as possible but it may be that your first choice might not be available so maybe make a list before contacting them i have a new project in the works called the painter s farm so that will keep me very busy in the next few months i will also be looking at some new ideas about where and how to sell these small paintings and how that will coordinate with what i am doing with the farm it s unlikely that i will be posting new work here until late summer or so but i will do my best to make a fuss when i make some decisions and when i post new work k so keep an eye on things here it will be fun i promise posted by tracy helgeson at 11 47 am monday august 18 clicking on them one by one but i am sure blogger has a good reason for making me do it that way however i have removed them for a good reason many of them along with about a hundred new ones yes people i have been slaving away lately will be included in my upcoming solo show at the harrison gallery you should see them in person of course because they look better that way and also because we have a pretty cool exhibition format planned but if you can t make it the studies will also be available through the gallery website so if you are interested in seeing them when they get posted there years i still love painting on very small panels so i do a few every once in awhile and have decided to offer them for sale on this blog only they can be purchased directly from me payment through paypal only while other paintings are available only through the galleries that represent my work frames ok here s the deal with the frames normally i don t like a visible from the front frame on my work so i paint on cradled panels cradled panels have a one inch strip of wood on the back of the panel that is flush with the edges visible on the sides but not on the front it is clean modern and ready hang on your wall oh and do i have to add that these paintings look far far better in person than they do on your computer screen well they do just so you know facebook badge tracy helgeson
