each team participated in five of the six ultimate experience tournaments the program attended the ontario ultimate regional championships in burlington athletes trained together throughout the winter season in preparation for tournament competition the 2026 2027 program will continue to build on that foundation through regular training tournament competition and championship opportunities who with spirit of the game arrive prepared on time and ready to learn commit to consistent effort discipline and hard work take ownership of their development support teammates and contribute positively to team culture reflect learn and apply feedback from practices and games what coaches are looking for tryouts will give coaches an opportunity to evaluate athletes through drills competitive activities and game play evaluation will consider the whole athlete including throwing catching athleticism movement decision making field awareness communication coachability effort team play spirit of the game our coaching approach tuc s goal is to create an environment where athletes are challenged while still having space to learn coaches will provide intentional athlete centred instruction while encouraging reflection ownership and accountability athletes should become comfortable trying things making mistakes learning from those mistakes and applying the lesson the next time they step onto the field competition matters but development comes first program commitment athletes accepting a roster position should be prepared to make the junior 4v4 touring program a meaningful part of their winter ultimate commitment consistent attendance is important regular training allows coaches to develop team systems and gives athletes the repetitions they need to improve individually and collectively tuc recognizes that junior athletes may also participate in school activities other sports and family commitments athletes and families should communicate known conflicts with the coaching staff as early as possible parents guardians supporters families are an important part of creating the environment we want for our athletes we ask families to encourage effort and process rather than results celebrate growth and perseverance respect coaches and teammates and give athletes space to work through challenges and learn from mistakes program cost athletes who are offered and accept a position on one of the junior 4v4 touring teams will pay a separate program fee for the 2026 2027 season for reference the 2025 2026 tournament roster program fee was 520 per athlete that fee covered winter practice field time ultimate experience tournament entry fees ontario ultimate regional championship participation coaching travel and tournament expenses a tuc junior touring
