august september and october stitching okay i really need to do some catching up here i have done a lot of stitching mostly trying to finish up my wips i have so many that need to be framed i have tried framing on my own but i m not very good at it and it s hard to find the right frame my august finishes are deux oiseaux and in my garden by blackbird designs these are from the ooh la la and the sewing club cross stitch books i hope i can get these framed soon i have no finishes for september i spent the month trying to finish up when witches go riding by the prairie schooler which i finished in october i can t remember the fabric i stitched it on but it was not easy i m glad i finished it i think it s 28 count heartland sorry not the best picture and yes the wall is green i ve been working for weeks on mighty acorn by blackbird designs which is getting close to being done i just need to finish up the border and a few little areas i have since started a few autumn smalls which i may or may not be done this month and then i ll be stitching my christmas wips i only have a few left i finished the twelve days of christmas ornaments by satsuma street designs they still need to be hello back again with some progress and finishes where did june go it flew by but i managed to finish a few projects i m on a mission to finish all my wips this year and it looks like i m getting a lot done this is be thankful by country cottage needleworks when i first started stitching this i wasn t all that thrilled about the white pumpkins so i ended up changing the colors on a few pumpkins to traditional pumpkin colors i used classic colorworks floss pumpkin harvest colonial copper and candied yams i love how it turned out next i have tomato time needlebook from punch needle and primitive stitching magazine i need to sew this up into a needlebook i m just deciding what fabric i want to use this is autumn sound by blackbird designs not a wip i was able to stitch this up in three days i think it s supposed to be made into a pin cushion not sure if i ll make it that way this month for christmas in july i m finishing up my christmas ornaments i started during stitchmaynia 2020 they re almost done twelve days of christmas by satsuma street i used all dmc floss and it s stitched on 14 count aida oatmeal here are the first two i m finishing today i have more to share but facebook share to pinterest labels christmas in july cross stitch wips wednesday may 19 2021 may projects and plans well i ve been busy with stitchmaynia and a little late on posting my progress i started 6 new projects and now i m going to revisit some of my wips from last year today i ll be stitching when witches go riding by the prairie schooler okay here s the quick run down of my stitchmaynia starts first up is autumn hill by plum street samplers i gave myself three days and then i moved on to the next project next was jardin prive s la nature est mon atelier stitched on 28 count monaco and the called for dmc floss my third start in my garden by black bird designs stitched on 28 count monaco and i used dmc floss this is suppose to be a pin cushion if you can see in the book cover photo i m a little scared to cut it up when i finish might be easier to frame when i m finished fourth start tomato time needlebook designed by eszter marjanovic this pattern was in last summer s punch needle and primitive stitching magazine i can t wait until i finish this one as a needlebook it s going to be so cute i stitched it on 16 count french lace aida and dmc floss autumn sound by black bird designs i was able to finish this one inspite of all the color changes i think this one came out really nice and my last one is mighty acorn by blackbird designs i really love their patterns i love samplers so i plan on stitching more this is also stitched on 28 count monaco i m using the weeks dye works floss that s called for on the chart except for the border i used dmc plans good morning i have a few shares to write about i finished the little easter egg by crocette a gogo it came out really cute unfortunately not fully finished i think i ll make it into a small pillow yes another addition to my to be fully finished projects next up is i finished santa s list by country cottage needleworks i started this over a year ago i was able to stitch it quickly once i put my mind to it i was having a heck of a time trying to make french knots for the white polka dots on the boxes i gave up and used beads instead i only had some red beads from a previous project so that s what i used i eventually made the french knots for santa s eyes i m currently stitching my next wip which is babushka s blossoms by plum street samplers i just have the pumpkin to do and i should be done by tomorrow if i do nothing else lol my next plan is to start a sampler by blackbird designs it s from the oh la la book called deux oiseaux two birds i like this one because it calls for one color floss which i have never done a cross stitch using one color plus i like the fact that i can pick it up in the morning and stitch without much thought to it and drink my coffee i have a few other new projects to start this month or maybe next month autumn hill by plum street samplers and la nature est mon atelier by jardin prive the translation is nature is my workshop how sweet next month is stitch maynia and i m not sure what my plans are i might choose to do what i did last year which is to finish what i started last year and maybe a few new things thrown in the mix i really labels cross stitch tuesday march 30 2021 a few finishes and my april plans i didn t realize it has been february since i last posted well here s a quick update what i m making and what lies ahead in april my last finish is lori holt s happy farm girl it was a wip from 2019 this year i m determined to finish all my wips at least most of them anyway i stitched this for the last three weeks and finally finished it i changed some of the colors i made her skin tone a little darker and instead of a blonde she is a brunette i will try to frame this soon my two other finishes this month is less is more by jardin prive and frida by barbara ana i sent them off to total framing in virginia to be framed i ve never sent my cross stitch to be framed professionally well once a long time ago but i heard nothing but i good things about them i m looking forward to hearing from them on choices of frames they said they will send me photos to look at in about a month they are really popular for stitchery framing i m currently stitching a small cross stitch by crocette a gogo it s a free pattern from her website i hope i ll have it finished by easter i m stitching it on 28 count vintage country mocha linen i would love to start stitching samplers so i m looking at charts from blackbird designs well that s the plan anyway i have more finishes for march but i ll save that for another crafty roundup happy valentine s day well this week i manage to do a little crafting because that s all there is to do besides cooking and cleaning ugh i made more tags for my journals i m continuing to cross stitch frida she s almost done and i found the dmc 503 i had it all the time so i didn t have to substitute with another color anyway i should have been done days ago but i think i just lost my mojo with that piece i also printed and put together a junk journal kit from vectoria designs i put it in a mini binder i have for recipes but i plan to cover it it s a recipe book that i can put in our favorites and then possibly hand it down to my daughter if she s interested it has some really cute vintage pictures it will be fun to put together friday freebie hearts are from gi kerr s s day vintage recipe friday february 05 2021 coffee and cross stitch good morning here s what i ve been working on for the last 2 weeks i started this during stitchmaynia 2019 but with all my other wips i hadn t picked it up until last month so i m determined to get it done of course i m not stitching like i used to so it s going to be a slow process i m out of dmc 503 which is a blue green that goes on the bottom of her dress i m looking at dmc 597 that could be a good substitute it s pretty close hopefully i ll finish her dress today or maybe tomorrow then i ll have the flowers left to do frida designed by barbara ana designs speaking of coffee i found these cute coffee journal cards on the lily pad digital website i brought them into one of my digital programs and made tags these will be great for my cards or journals the tags are sort of large but i think they ll work just fine i printed them on the back side of patterned paper that is light and is perfect for journaling hope your tags thursday february 04 2021 i m still here i m still here and crafting my brains out a lot of cross stitching but not as much as i use to i cross stitch daily mostly in the mornings now i have been hit with the paper crafting bug again first it s been with my silhouette portrait just making all kinds of stuff with it in december i made these two 3d paper projects then january rolls around and i made a few valentine box cards and candy treat bags these are fun to make here is my aunt s birthday card it was my first box card and it was a lot easier than i thought so then i got hooked on those box cards this is really an easter card but i changed it up to be a birthday card and now it s been all about junk journals i ve put one together but it s random more like an idea book i have so much paper i need to do something with it so i ve been making lots of tags and pockets i just love it here are a couple of tags i made the pattern is from gi kerr s facebook group but you can get them in her etsy shop i scanned the pdf file and i was able to cut it on my silhouette her facebook group is happiness in crafting i added the butterflies from tim holtz botanical layers she also has mini hope you all doing well and staying safe our thanksgiving dinners are usually small and at home so it s no different this year sometime today i will be taking down our fall decorations i m anxious to get my christmas decorations up as well as the tree i was ready last week this month i worked on two cross stitch patterns i ve mentioned them in previous posts i was focused because i wanted them done i switched back and forth so i wouldn t get bored but i wanted to finish at least one and i did i finished pumpkin hollow farms stitched on 28 count coffee tea dyed monaco i used the called for dmc floss the other one is babushka s blossoms which is almost done i might continue but i m ready to start stitching my christmas projects so we ll see how the day goes the first one i have kitted up
