tuesday november 6 2012 evolution of a fairy dancer somewhere buried deep in my memory is the presence of the fairy dancer she keeps re appearing in my imagination in many forms and she comes out in my design work over and over sometimes i see a version of her in a victorian die cut scrap and sometimes in an antique costume like the old theatre piece i wore at halloween and she came out when i designed this santos figure here she is most recently in the process of being turned into a little puppet and of course she comes to life and dances every fall at the theatre of dreams for sure she crossed even a few flakes would make my happiness complete i am working in the studio every day to finish up new things for my next two shows my first two open houses went really well nothing is more fun for me than decking out my shop for christmas this year with huge swags of fragrant eucalyptus stuffing the shelves with new and enticing hand made goods and standing behind the counter as people shop the candles are lit the music is on and i get to put on my antique french shopkeepers jacket and just enjoy the excitement i turn on the mechanical shadow dancer and everyone stops in their
