have not updated life got in the way i had my beautiful baby girl and she is perfect cara regina was born on august 11 2014 at 12 49 pm i was induced at 39 weeks i went into the hospital on sunday august 10th at 7 pm and they started the induction i was contracting and in active labor by 2 am by 8 30 am i finally got the epi but of course as it does in many cases it slowed down my contractions and progression of labor so they had to give me pitocin they checked me at noon and i was already 10 centimeters and ready to go i pushed for 5 minutes and she was out she came out with a full head of dark hair she has been such an easy baby and really only cries when she is hungry we had her christening on september 28th and she slept through the whole thing we also just celebrated her first holiday which of course was halloween colin went as a monkey and she was a banana again she slept through most of halloween as well colin is a great big brother it did take him about two weeks to get adjusted to having a sister those first two weeks were really rough but now he is so protective of her and loves her so much we are truly blessed and our family is now complete i am back to work now so i may actually have more time to blog so i hope to keep this updated now for anyone who still reads it posted by jackiemac at 7 55 am 8 comments monday june 23 2014 update it has been awhile since i updated all is good colin is getting so big he is already 2 1 2 years old where does the time go he is talking up a storm he cracks me up he says the funniest things i love when he says i wuve you mommy melts my heart he is no where near being ready to be potty trained and i am not pushing the issues at all he also has no desire to have a sibling and does not want to be a big brother so we will be in for it in a couple of weeks for sure with him i am 32 weeks pregnant now and all is going pretty well no surprise trips to l d so far with this pregnancy which is good i have only gained 9 pounds so far which i am pretty happy about summer is a hard time to be very pregnant though i have a hard time breathing i get horrible heart burn and short of breath very often yesterday my ankles swelled up for the first time but that is because i had a super busy weekend and was on my feet a lot my white blood cells are also low because of the blood thinners i am on so i may need to be put on steroids if they get below 100 cara s room is all painted and decorated and ready to go i just finished washing and putting away all of her clothes most of which were handed down to me from friends i have the bassinet up in our room i bought and wrap a present for cara to give to colin in the hospital i got a big brother shirt for colin to wear when he meets cara for the first time in the hospital we have a game plan and my hospital bag is pretty much packed i have been nesting big time as you can tell i also had my car detailed and my carpets professionally cleaned in the house i am ready well as ready as you can be i guess my friend is throwing me a sprinkle on july 13th so i am looking forward to that as well and john and i are going to a fancy dinner for our anniversary this weekend as a last outing for awhile posted by jackiemac at 9 15 am 2 comments wednesday april 23 2014 staying home after a lot of thought john and i have decided that i am going to stay home when baby cara comes it just makes sense i would not be making any money whatsoever after i paid to have a newborn and toddler in daycare all day and i think somehow we can make it work but cutting back on certain things i feel good about my decision i plan on telling daycare at the end of may and asking if colin can come once or twice a week just so he can be around other children and so that i can have one on one time with cara i will tell my boss at the end of june that my last day will be august 1st i do not think it will go well with him he is already so pissed that i am pregnant but i have to do what is right for my family and for myself i hope to stay home for a couple of years and then try to get a job in a school that is the goal but i will see what life has in store for me here is a picture of us from my big gender reveal i cannot wait posted by jackiemac at 9 55 am 1 comment thursday march 6 2014 16 weeks this pregnancy has been hard yes that needed to be in caps i am still throwing up and i am so stressed out with trying to take care of a toddler working full time and everything else women make this look so easy i am not one of those women it is hard for me and a struggle every single day it does not help that colin was very sick last week and got both john and i sick so yeah sick and pregnant not fun at all i literally being crying every night because it is so hard i am 16 weeks pregnant though and i am making it through i cannot wait to find out what we are having we have our gender scan on march 31st so far so good with the baby please just let this baby be healthy john and i have been talking a ton about what to do once this baby comes realistically having a newborn and toddler in full time daycare is super expensive and while i make okay money it really would not be worth it for me to work and be away from my babies all day so we are toying with the idea of me taking a year off from work and seeing if we can swing it and then maybe getting a night job or a part atom about me jackiemac we had been ttc since september 2006 and we were diagnosis with mfi in october 2007 since then we have done 7 iui s my husband had varicocele surgery in september 2008 and i had a lap surgery in december 2008 we saved for a year to pay for ivf we did ivf 1 in oct nov 2009 and it worked we were pregnant with one little bean and we were due july 29 2010 but when we went in for our 11 week ultrasound they did not find a heartbeat we lost the baby we took a long ttc break we did a fet in may 2011 and it worked we were blessed with our son colin john on january 18 2012
