their cabinet store did i want it i was soon on my way and filled up my car i could have filled up a truck but i had to draw the line somewhere some of the cabinets were wall displays with doors that opened for this project i removed the door and drawer front from the frame i m only going to use the frame this time i glued and nailed the drawer front to the bottom of the frame next i cut a piece of pre made chalkboard from the hardware store to fit the door space i glued and nailed the chalkboard onto the back of the larger space this cabinet is a beautiful natural wood color with a clear and the mirror inside smashed so there was nothing left to do with the window but repurpose it and so i did i began by cutting an old slatted crate in half you know that other half will be showing up again soon i nailed and glued the crate onto the bottom of the window as luck would have it it was the perfect size to fit around the frame i held the crate in place while the glue dried with antique irons as weights i painted the crate and the window with a coat of casement white by fusion mineral paint it sticks to everything the only thing left to do when the paint dried was to find the perfect the junk pile today to create a chalkboard memo stand this tree slice cutting board was in the donation pile but i pulled it out to use it for a new project the first thing i did was to find a dowel that was the right size to fit into the stand the one i found was the wrung of an old chair the stand i m using was the candle holder leftover from this project i glued the stand to the base with wreath for spring i was inspired for this project by a photo in a catalogand couldn t wait to see if i could make it myself the umbrella wreath for the front door was adorable in the catalog but expensive so i set out to create my own for free the first thing i needed was an old umbrella but i didn t have one and on second thought it might be way too big anyway so i used the pieces above and
