caldarium maximus sauna there is also a great cool down area outside as first time sauna goers we did find some of the rooms very warm which we suspect is perfect for more experience people it was a saunas during my trips to the netherlands germany poland and this was the best yet its about a 15 minute walk from haarlem centraal station but there are buses 7 days per week also i made my reservation in advance as this is recommended and on arrival i was given my robe and towel and after getting changed one of the team from behind the bar showed me round which was great as there is a lot to see from the turkish steamroom to the plunge pool and the large indoor pool were all very good outside there is a wonderful piece of engineering in one of the saunas that every 15 minutes these large mechanical fans start up and the door covering the sauna coals open and a mechanical arm drops water onto the coals upstairs there is a cinema and it was great being able to relax between treatments by watching the theory of everything the food in the restaurent was very nice and when i settled the bill at the end it was not at all expensive i am looking forward to returning to the
