volunteer join the fun the wye float river music festival is a one day river float and music event on the river wye with camping available for anyone who wants to stay for the weekend the river float runs alongside a full day of live music so there s plenty to enjoy whether you re on the water or staying on dry land spend the day floating the river with friends or soaking up the music and atmosphere then enjoy food drinks and live performances into the evening the festival also supports local charities and river clean ups helping to look after the wye and the community around it it s about enjoying the river giving something back and sharing a great day with the option to camp and make a weekend of it where is the festival the main event is at hereford rugby club hr4 0ph parking will be charged at 6 per car please do not park on the pitches the campsite is at hereford rowing club hr4 0be camping pitches are not included in the ticket price please visit https www herefordrc co uk to book what date is the festival 8th august 2025 this will mark our 8th year running the festival and we re more excited than ever to celebrate with everyone what are the event timing the float starts at 12 noon make sure you check in before 11 am the last chance to join the float is at 1 00 pm at 11 00 am please bring your inflatables and gather in front of the main stage for a safety brief please don t hang around the campsites or car parks at this time the bar closes at 11 30 pm with last orders at 11 15 pm can i bring my dog to the festival or on the float dogs are not permitted to enter hereford rugby club premises or the festival area except guide dogs the campsite allows dogs but please consider the environment and weather we cannot make exceptions due to the festival area being a sports pitch no refund will be made should i bring cash or can i pay by card at the festival there are no atms on site so we recommend bringing some cash with you for food drinks and merchandise most vendors will also accept card payments but it s best to be prepared just in case at the end of the float next to the shuttle bus stop hereford scouts will be providing refreshments for a small donation cash is appreciated here too where can i park and is there a charge please plan your parking in advance and follow all event signage directing you to the designated parking areas carpooling is encouraged to help reduce traffic and congestion due to the limited amount of parking we recommend using nearby car parks the main event car park is located at hereford rugby club hr4 0ph if you are camping parking is included and will be at hereford rowing club hr4 0be day parking is 6 please bring the correct change as card payments are not accepted for parking is camping available at the festival yes tent motorhome and caravan pitches are available for the festival weekend however these must be booked directly through hereford rowing club and are subject to availability to book your pitch please visit https www herefordrc co uk campsite are there toilet facilities available at the festival yes portable toilets are available in the main event area including a disabled accessible cubicle please be respectful and help keep the facilities clean for everyone if you find that a toilet needs attention report it to a member of the team as soon as possible where can i find first aid or report a lost child the first aid point and lost child point are located next to the main events area if you are away from the main site and taking part in the inflatable float please alert a member of the river rescue team as soon as possible if assistance is needed can i get a refund if i can t attend the festival please refer to our refund policy tickets ready either printed or easily accessible on your mobile device the ticket exchange point opens at 9 00am where your e ticket will be exchanged for a wristband all float participants must have a wristband in order to take part in the float we highly recommend that all members of your group check in together to help speed up the process and avoid delays what is the line up for wye float for float festival yes tickets can be purchased on our website in advance and we highly recommend doing so as tickets may not be available on the day of the event https www wyefloat com buy tickets what time should i arrive if i m joining the float all float participants must arrive and check in by 11 00am at the latest please wait within the main event area the float begins at midday and a safety briefing will take place at 11 45am in front of the main stage please ensure you are ready with your inflatables and not in the campsites or car parks at that time the main event is open from 10am to 11 30pm are there any rules or regulations i should be aware of all participants taking part in the float must be at least 12 years old correctly fitted buoyancy aids must be worn by all under 18s and over 18s should consider wearing them as well if you are supervising anyone under the age of 18 make sure that you can see them clearly at a distance of at least 10m ensure all your group can swim at least 25m without any aids please use the designated points to enter or leave the water participants must remain in their crafts at all times alcohol is prohibited on the river to prevent any health risks or environmental damage respect the surrounding areas do not drop litter or leave your floats behind look out for other participants and call for help if required avoid going through bushes trees or anything that could cause your inflatable to pop or put yourself or others in danger buoyancy aids must stay on and should only be taken off once on a solid landing point strictly no diving or jumping along the route please do not pass the exit point if you do pass it you do so at your own risk please hand in any rubbish including any unwanted vessels or inflatables do not participate if you have any medical conditions which could be exacerbated or effect you during the float please speak to us before booking tickets can i watch the float as a spectator due to health and safety regulations spectators are not permitted to access or view the float from the steps at hereford rowing club however you are welcome to watch from the nearby riverbanks and bridges which provide good vantage points what should i wear to the festival and for the float as the festival includes both river activities and music performances we recommend dressing comfortably for a mix of wet and dry conditions all float participants must wear suitable footwear before approaching the water s edge all under 18s are required to wear a buoyancy aid no exceptions will be made and access to the water will be denied without one please note we do not supply or hire clothing footwear or buoyancy aids don t forget to bring sunscreen a hat sunglasses and a change of clothes to stay safe and comfortable throughout the day what should i bring if i m taking part in the river float if you re joining the river float please bring a suitable flotation device such as an inflatable air bed flamingo dinghy or paddle board take the time to inflate your float to the correct pressure this will make your journey safer and more enjoyable pumps are not provided so please bring your own we encourage avoiding single use plastics consider reusing or repurposing inflatables or equipment from home or your garden shed bringing a paddle is strongly recommended for ease of navigation if you have any damaged inflatables please place them to one side our team will do their best to repair or up cycle them where possible is there a shuttle bus after the float and how does it work yes once you reach the end of the inflatable route there is a short walk to the scout hut where you ll find refreshments toilets and the shuttle bus pick up point the shuttle bus runs approximately every 30 minutes and will continue operating until the last participant is off the water there is no extra charge the shuttle service is included in your ticket price are showers available at the festival yes but showers are exclusively for campsite guests they are not available to day visitors or general festival attendees unless agreed with hereford rowing club staff directly is there a place to store my bag during the festival unfortunately wye float does not provide lockers or bag storage facilities please plan accordingly and keep personal belongings with you at all times how long does the float take to complete on average the float takes approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on river conditions and your chosen pace please allow extra time for check in the safety briefing and getting to and from the shuttle bus do i need to sign a waiver or attend a safety briefing before the float yes all float participants must sign the written event this will be completed on the day of the event the official safety announcement will take place at 11 45am in front of the main stage participants must arrive before 11 00 am and be ready for a prompt entry into the water at 12 00 pm all floats and participants must be inside the main event area by 11 00 am no late entries will be allowed music festival ticket holders not taking part in the float may arrive leave and return anytime during the day as long as they
