possible holes to poke in that a first and foremost transfeminists would argue that misogynistic behavior is not primarily determined by instructions given to you in the past but by incentives in the present men benefit from misogyny so misogynistic behavior often ends up rewarding them and crucially they can get away with it trans women do not have the same incentives because patriarchy is not interested in rewarding us and we can t get away with it because we have nowhere near that amount of power b okay let s just ignore the power dynamics of it all for now patriarchy does not instruct young girls to be less misogynistic it just instructs them to also turn it on themselves so really the male socialization that young boys receive is just encouragement to be confident in their misogyny it tells them yes you are better than the girls be proud of that obviously that message doesn t apply to trans women because patriarchy also tells children now remember it s shameful and disgusting to be a tranny so if you think you are one you have to feel really bad about yourself so young cis boys get told they re the best and young trans girls get told they re scum if the male socialization argument is really about the potential harm of misogyny in adults then it falls apart when you remember that trans women have far less potential harm than men because potential harm is proportional to structural power of which we have barely any if instead it s about how children are taught to perceive themselves then anyone who tries to understand what it s like to be a transfem child knows that we re taught to let misogyny happen to us and if you argue that maybe said trans child didn t internalize that self hatred because she didn t know she was trans which sure while not super realistic it isn t impossible then you still fail to account for how transitioning into a woman is one of the most identity shattering experiences out there no matter how you frame it it s still going from a place of relative safety to absolute disgust scorn and hostility so even in those cases it s still overwhelmingly likely for the trans woman to end up the humblest fucker in the world trying to boil it all down to trans women were raised as boys and boys are raised as misogynists is a whole new level of reductive and blatantly ignores transfem perspectives and people are in fact
