the robisons tuesday february 25 2014 twins the end of summer brought zach and i the baby itch my mind was screaming no are you kidding me not again my pregnancy with brod had been rough and post partum was a struggle to say the least i was finally starting to feel like myself again when the constant thought that we need to have another baby began i really feel that heavenly father changed my heart and i began to be excited about having another baby in my head would pop all the reasons why another one was crazy right now lack of sleep morning sickness stretch marks working off more baby weight bottles binkies and more diapers not to mention the terror at having to go through another emotional roller coaster after the baby comes in the end my heart won out there was no denying it it was time we were blessed to get pregnant almost immediately zach and i knew i was pregnant pretty much right away i had been following a diet of mainly fruit veggies and lean meats strictly i knew something was up when after weeks of no sugars i had to have a cookie dough blizzard i started getting slightly sick almost immediately as well when it came time i took a test and sure enough it was positive my due date was june 6 2014 the excitement i had before started to fade once the sickness and major fatigue set in those first few weeks i would just whine to zach about what a wimp i was i was literally just surviving i barely left the couch and had a hard time eating i tried to stay active exercising and getting out of the house as often as i felt up to it which was not much we were hoping to wait for a while to start telling people but being that i was so sick we knew it best to tell those closest to us friends and family my initial prenatal appointment was at twelve weeks and we decided to wait until then to make it public as we were driving to our appointment i remember having a sort of heavy something significant was about to happen kind of feeling i pushed it out of my mind thinking i was just being paranoid we got to the office and waited for what seemed like ages the office was running behind as it was and the feeling i was having wasn t helping my patience level finally we were seen by the nurse practitioner lisa my 2nd favorite care giver after dr lunt she went through the regular questions pregnancy symptoms official due date etc ok let s check the baby s heartbeat this was the moment i had been waiting for my heart started pounding zach asked is there any way we can tell if there are two this early for a couple of weeks before our appointment he had been telling me he just had this feeling there were two in there yeah right i wasn t even sure i could handle one more let alone two i just knew heavenly father wouldn t put that on my plate because i was sure i couldn t handle it my first thought when he asked about finding out if there were two was yes please then he can shut up about the whole twin thing lisa was great and said that since we had waited so long she would give us an ultrasound using the portable machine zach came and stood next to me to get a better view as soon as the wand was placed on my stomach lisa said oh dad s right are you kidding my voice began shaking she turned the screen toward me and i saw two little peanuts moving around one was going crazy rolling around and kicking the other seemed to be waving here i am mom and dad she immediately told us the heartbeats looked great and everything else seemed fine though we d have to have an official ultrasound to check for sure i was glad i was laying down at that point because i started shaking and sweating this is a joke that can t be my ultrasound i was having an out of body experience once the ultrasound was done lisa began giving us the rundown on how our appointments and ultrasounds would go from here i was in too much in shock to really listen she wrapped up the appointment and went to go grab dr lunt my ob i just remember looking at zach and both of us laughing nervously it was like a dream while we waited for dr lunt we scheduled our ultrasound and next appointment when he came out to meet with us i think the look on his face mirrored my own he had delivered my twin sisters fourteen years previous and remembered them and my parents well after a brief discussion and assurances from us that i wasn t on any fertility medication he congratulated us and sent us on our way as soon as we were in our car big tears started welling up in my eyes just when they were about to spill over i started laughing i kept laugh crying every 15 minutes or so for the rest of the day i almost lost it while waiting in the pharmacy line and at deseret book and i couldn t touch my cafe rio steak salad let alone anything else for the rest of the day once we got home we spent the rest of the day telling family and close friends we gave our parents packs of double mint gum tori cried and was so excited john was shocked my mom couldn t believe it grandma gary and grandma jill swore happily and my dad gave us his congratulations along with may god have mercy on your soul everyone was so happy and excited for us we waited until our ultrasound a couple of days later to make it official just to make sure all was well everything looked great both babies were right on track for growth and each had their own sacks and placenta the best case scenario for twins even though it still didn t seem real we began announcing the news we were adding two more to our family we have been so blessed with such love support and kindness from those around us it s been one heck of a ride so far posted by the robisons at 4 59 pm no comments monday october 15 2012 brody brody s story i can t even describe how excited we are to have our little boy here the last nine months have been such a crazy roller coaster that at times felt like it would never end some days i felt like i would be pregnant for the rest of my life the week or so before brody s arrival i was pretty uncomfortable brody had dropped so low and i was having more frequent and consistent contractions my family thought i was going to have him any day i wanted with every fiber of my being for them to be right but since his due date was august 3rd i didn t want to get it in my head that i was going to have this kid any day and then be an emotional basket case when i went a week past my due date so i pre scheduled my last few prenatal appointments and when the receptionist told me that my doctor would be out of town for a week in mid july so don t have your baby then i told her that no way would my baby come early i was going to be pregnant til august the morning of july 17th i had a doctor s appointment and i was praying that they would send me over to labor and delivery i was so ready to be done being pregnant i was dialated to a 2 and 80 effaced i had a non stress test because brody s movement had decreased it showed that he was doing great and i was not in active labor when they sent me on my still pregnant way i told myself that i only had a couple of weeks left and the longer he stayed in the better by the time i got home i was glad i had more time to get everything finished up before the big day i started my list of to do s that afternoon with folding my mountain of clean laundry when i stood up to put everything away i felt it my water broke i called zachary and insisted that no i was not kidding and yes i was very sure my water had broken i double checked our bags and called my mom and mother in law tori came right over to get hadley and ended up staying along with john and amy and cleaned our house do i have the best in laws or what zach came home showered loaded up and we were on our way to have a baby on the drive to the hospital i called labor and delivery to let them know we were coming and i m glad i did there must have been something in the water because when we got there they had so many women in labor that there was only one room left and they had pushed back an induction so i could have it i was hooked up to the monitor and had an iv started the usual i was dialated to a 3 by then with non painful contractions since i was planning on having an epidural my nurses told me i could have it any time i decided to wait as long as i could that huge needle going into my back had to be worth it my mom and brother were in st george so they met us there and hung out for a while my dad also drove up to join in the fun after a couple of hours the nurses started some pitocin or devil drug to speed up my labor as the contractions got stronger zach held my hand and my mom rubbed my feet until i was ready for the epidural the scariest part of the epidural this time around was right after i finished getting it i felt the next contraction even stronger than the last one i moaned in pain and a nervous look crossed the anesthesiologist s face you felt that at that point i was so scared i would have to give birth with no pain medication thankfully he got it working and i sarted to go numb but only on my left side i didn t care as long as i wasn t able to feel everything my nurse propped me on my right side and that helped i still wasn t as numb on the right side but i only felt pressure after that my parents decided to go home and get some rest when the nurse checked me 30 minutes later i was a six fifteen minutes later i started feeling some pressure so i called her in and sure enough it was time to push she ran to get everything set up and call everyone in for the delivery my doctor was out of town he got back the next day so the nurse midwife who i love delivered brody instead i only pushed for five minutes and he was here my first thought was how little he was when you have a toddler running around you forget how small a newborn is i remember how when he started crying he stuck out his bottom lip it melted my heart instantly and i couldn t wait to get him in my arms hadley of course loves little brody so very much when she met him for the first time she wouldn t let anyone else get close to her baby i love my little family posted by the robisons at 1 53 pm no comments monday july 9 2012 birthday baby our little hadley ranae turned two on april 7th i keep wondering when my baby turned into a little girl this year we had hadley s party at our house with a few friends and family she was very spoiled loved and got a lot of fun presents clothes lots and lots a bubble lawn mower a little four wheeler water toys coloring supplies and legos to name a few this year i decided to make her cake and cupcakes with the help of my amazing mom she frosted hadley s cake and i love how it turned out some stats about hadley at 2 talks all the time loves to pretend she is super sassy and has learned to throw a good fit she loves playing with other kids especially if they re older repeats everything we say she is in 2t 3t clothing and size 7 shoe she has a shoe fettish there are always shoes scattered around the house from her her doctor said that she ll most likely be more fiesty when she turns 3 and i couldn t agree more she would watch movies all day if she could loves to be outside especially if she s helping her dad so far hadley has been such a fun 2 year old she really is so pleasant and has such a fun personality we love our goober girl the birthday girl after she woke up check out that awesome bed head opening presents posted by the robisons at 9 59 am 1 comment tuesday april 3 2012 fingerpaint hadley loved this i made some fingerpaint put it in a baggie and taped it to the window it was so easy to make and fun to play with i think i enjoyed drawing in it as much as she did this is the face she pulled when i told her to say cheese what a ham posted by the robisons at 9 33 pm no comments ca lean this little lady loves to ca lean she constantly asks for wipes wet paper towels and rags so she can wipe down anything and everything her other favorite thing to do is help her dad outside especially if she gets to play with the hose which she always does because she has her dad wrapped around her finger it was so nice outside so we spent the morning playing with the hose and scrubbing whatever happened to be in the vicinity while zachary cleaned the truck i hope summer weather doesn t come too soon so we can have more days like this posted by the robisons at 9 12 pm no comments notice anything missing little miss h is no longer sporting her bright pink cast we were so excited for her to get it off she only had to have it for three weeks but by the last week her poor arm was itching like crazy all in all it really wasn t too bad she ignored the cast for the most part and having it waterproofed helped a ton of course getting it cut off with the saw scared her but she screamed ten times worse for the x ray after the cast was off we expected her to be a little hesitant in using her arm for a few days but she went back to using it like normal hopefully she doesn t climb on anymore bunk beds posted by the robisons at 8 48 pm no comments lazy day i love this goob that little grin she gets makes me one happy mama look at that fuzz really it s out of control she is adorable enough to pull it off but i pray that for her sake it calms down one day she lays like this quite often and it cracks me up as you can tell we had a lazy day
