would go to this fast food restaurant it was affordable and a lot of my happiest core memories were made there i think that s where my childhood dream of owning a fast food franchise started but i first spent over ten years as a lawyer chasing a career and stable income but my heart wasn t in it starting a fast food franchise was incredibly overwhelming you just hit the ground running with a husband was very tough we worked hard together you know but in 2005 my husband passed away all my dreams they were shattered and those were the days i think i had no idea what to do i had two daughters still the mortgage on the house and now i was the single earner for the family so security was a big thing for me how to keep my money safe when i was introduced to matt at td wealth i felt again it came out of the blue the sparks were electric lee ann it really is very cool marrying your best friend and now it s coming time to retire steve we realized that we didn t have a true path to retirement so we really needed some help with that when we went to td wealth we met up with jonathan lee ann he really did open our eyes he educated us he was answering questions we didn t know we needed to ask steve he was exploring all the different options to get us to retire much earlier than we had expected i had the assumption that it was going to be a decade before i could retire and it s just amazing that the timeline has changed to the summer it s like newfound time i figure we ve gained a decade of youth lee ann easy steve and we will love to travel we love to go see our families liz michael and i have been td customers our entire life michael we both remember starting with td and we had the little td passbook liz when we got married michael just completed his first year of medicine and i am now in the family business michael we got to a point where we re comfortable i had a good job her business was successful liz we built a good life and we have two beautiful daughters so we re really fortunate michael as things changed for us and we got older things became much more complicated my wife was getting close to selling her business we were really actively engaging with everybody got a fair chance then my wife contracted ovarian cancer and when she passed away that was a game changer i didn t realize at the time how well my wife was loved by her students and colleagues so i reached out to corina at td wealth and we set a plan together and we came up with private giving and we set something up to get the scholarship in the name of my wife we ve been very fortunate with td wealth to understand the complexities of estate planning and look at possibilities to do amazing things for me that s giving something back to students so there s a little bit of patty in all of them restart transcript lynn people don t always know what to do when someone passes planning is a true gift my father always wanted to be seen as a positive person not the sick person no one wants to talk about the end of their life we spent many hours in his garage shelling lobster at those times we were able to talk a lot my father was the type of person that always needed a safe space to talk about important things his td wealth office was one of those safe spaces to talk my stepmother was diagnosed with dementia dad ended up becoming a caregiver when he was unwell himself his biggest concern was what was going to happen to his wife when he was gone mike at td wealth gave my father the guidance that he needed to be comfortable it gave him the power and support that he needed to do his planning td wealth made him feel special and like he may have been their only client at the end of my father s life once he was gone being in the role of power of attorney and the executor there was a lot to do i had a call from mike at the td office and he was so supportive and it became more like a friend calling meant the world when i went into the office it was explained to me what the documents meant where the investment sits now and where we go forward my father made sure that everything was in place i wasn t guessing and it was truly like a last gift that is the gift
