never forgive the internet for making it a meme song tonight the music seems so loud i wish that we could lose this crowd maybe its better this way we d hurt each other with the things we want to say if you even care tinsnip oct 6th 2026 105 417 notes luna azzurra luna azzurra what made my characters more believable was asking what they misread everyone has a patterned misunderstanding some people misread distance as rejection some misread concern as pity some misread silence as punishment some misread desire as danger some misread kindness as debt a character s wrong interpretation of the world can tell you more about them than their favorite color ever will sorry to character sheets oct 6th 2026 6 931 notes actualamadeus actualamadeus adults should never be friends with children im going to put you into a box and shake you are we stupid actualamadeus the only reason i have never been groomed online is because when i was 10 i befriended 17 year olds who taught me how to interact with older people online safely yall have got to stop being scared of children online and start actually teaching them the ropes because if you are not up there with them then they re going to be completely alone with the creeps and have 0 metric for what is and is not an appropriate relationship this also applies offline bowditch when i was in my first internet community which was a well moderated space my parents were concerned i was talking to adults what they meant by this was that lifetime channel had recently done a couple movies in a row about internet grooming and murder where isolated young girls were lured to meet much older men who had lied about their own age in person despite being a child of the 80s whose parents understandably had no experiential basis for teaching internet safety i knew internet safety no real name no real location don t share your age more than a rough range if at all etc why did i know those things because adults in my first fandom communities taught me and other kids who showed up in those forum and chat spaces they moderated or deleted messages that shared too much laid ground rules shepherded us i knew those people in community not in isolation another tip the forum babies were given when my parents tried to ban me from all fandom internet a thing that was 80 of my social experience as a rural autistic homeschooled teenager i posted a farewell in the forum after a whole day of angry crying and arguing one sweet member of the forum was a 20 something mom with two toddlers and she wrote a lovely letter for me to print for my parents explaining how the community was moderated and what a benefit it could be and offered her own email and phone number if they wanted to chat they didn t reach out to her but that letter is why i was allowed to stay online just having the offer and the explanation was enough to reassure my parents i wasn t besties with this woman just a casual friend in the same space but we stayed in touch i respected her and the advice she and other adults in that community gave and it kept me safe in other interactions going forward i m friends with many of the people from that community on facebook now they re still friends with each other that kind woman i watched via internet as her kids graduated she watched me get married and have my own kids one of my older friends in another fandom was in her thirties when i got my driver s license as a teen she celebrated with me she sent my oldest kids a baby shower box that contained blankets that became their special blankies they still have saved somewhere as teens those relationships have been some of the most important ones of my teen years they were people who enjoyed fandom chats with me but also invested in me as a person and not just as a kid they were tolerating in the right context of healthy friendship their advice and perspective kept me safe and helped me grow of course there are red flags kids should be taught for any relationship but to stigmatize friendships across generational gaps harms kids more than it helps them kids need friends that cross those spaces oct 6th 2026 30 825 notes wizardsphinx wizardsphinx we all love dynamics that remind us of the moon and the sun but i am baffled by the lack of love for dynamics that are reminiscent of the moon and the earth wizardsphinx i am so full of 6th 2026 4 771 notes that catholic shinobi that catholic shinobi thinking of the larger context of lotr and like the fellowship swapping old war stories and shit and sam just says yeah i killed a huge spider shelob i think and gandalf just blinks and is like you what now yeah killed it had to save frodo gandalf elects not to tell sam that he killed the spawn of a primordial demon disgruntledexplainer the daughter of the embodiment of darkness which ate the original sun and moon and almost ate the devil matrixdragon that s not important what is important is that it was a danger to mister frodo 0gl1tch0 time for me to info dump about sam and shelob in lord of the rings lore there are three tiers of deities the highest tier and most dangerous includes morgoth sauron s master and ungoliant shelob s master the middle tier includes shelob sauron then there s the lowest tier which includes the wizards gandalf and saruman as well as the balrog this is why gandalf couldn t 1v1 the balrog it also explains why gandalf doesn t take the ring the magic of a tier 2 deity would absolutely corrupt him we even see that happen with saruman and the palantir this leads to the start of the answer to some interesting questions why does sauron tolerate shelob being in his territory and why does sauron tolerate there being a secret back door into mordor on the surface he does it because he might not be able to beat shelob in a fight after all they re the same tier of deity and since shelob s domain is the secret way into mordor he can t close it off and he seriously doubts anyone can use it to get in he doesn t monitor the path with guards either shelob would eat them it gets more detailed than that though sauron s boss morgoth and shelob s boss ungoliant made a deal they d attack the tree of life together morgoth would drink the nectar and ungoliant would keep all of the jewels and magic they earned along the way morgoth broke this deal because there was a particularly powerful gem he wanted the gem in sauron s helmet and as a result ungoliant went to war with morgoth ungoliant won morgoth barely escaped with his life so not only does sauron maybe lose if he attacks shelob even if he were to win it might provoke ungoliant into attacking morgoth again and ungoliant wins that fight she s already done it once with all of that established how the hell does sam hurt a deity that powerful well to start it s impossible shelob s hide is so tough sam could never pierce it with all his might however shelob had grown old and arrogant during the fight sam winds up directly underneath shelob and shelob decides to crush sam with all her strength unfortunately sam is pointing sting straight up while sam lacks the strength to hurt shelob shelob herself is plenty strong she accidentally impales herself on sting finding herself injured for the first time in thousands of years which is the sort of poetry i really appreciate about tolkien s writing no matter how powerful or evil or ancient or indestructible your foe if you stand for what is right and hold your sword out they will impale themselves upon it sam s backstory in this scene is much simpler he has to save frodo that catholic shinobi i love it when tolkien fans reblog posts with the deep lore receipts thank you oct 6th 2026 99 468 notes gals other blog gals other blog i haven t
