literally something i know we got a handful of books for the acolyte and i appreciate having something more to look forward to with sol yord jecki kelnacca and indara but come on that s across two novels and a one shot comic we don t get anything else no torbin no qimir no osha no mae i m going to get into the other high republic media but cancelling the acolyte both discarded several interesting characters and removed our only on screen old republic high republic content both of those are devastating to me i ll grant that i got here only recently but i can t even fathom why it was high republic okay actually i need to talk about torbin some more because there s something that i haven t found anyone else mention up until discovering the coven torbin was a homesick teenager we all know this but also these feelings of homesickness and restlessness were certainly made worse by feeling like his teacher master indara wasn t listening to him he didn t know why they were there he didn t know their purpose and indara wasn t particularly kind to torbin for instance when he tries to apologize after the destruction of the coven she turns away from him to address someone else refusing to acknowledge him immediately once they discover the coven torbin is really following along with sol and the others he doesn t initiate going to the coven the first time despite not doing anything wrong that is despite following the directions of those older and wiser than him he suffers a seriously traumatic violation of his mind that we see sticks with him then and this is what i haven t seen people talk about everything in his life gets worse sol and indara start regarding each other with frustration and animosity and there s a mounting tension in the air that reinforces torbin s already trauma ridden perception that brendok is not safe now he s homesick but he s also scared he s scared of the witches and he s scared that the people he is supposed to look to for guidance can t agree with each other i think this really helps explain why he runs off so quickly he needs to get off brendok and i can t fault him for that it isn t completely safe even if they don t approach the witches again and of course if they re there for evidence of a vergence and the only evidence they can get is the twins he s smart enough to understand that not gathering the twins might mean they re stuck on brendok indefinitely after everything happens he blames himself for running off and one of the first things to happen is sol and indara getting into a physical altercation a minor one but enough for torbin to internalize that it s gotten worse since he ran off to internalize that the tension between them is his fault 2 notes star wars the acolyte torbin jedi master torbin
