as well as new love love is an art soft romance between talib and kouto two disabled elves attending the same university as students of the arts they have to accommodate for each other s disabilities as well as the fact that talib is asexual while kouto is bisexual which creates a unique set of personal boundaries to navigate i ll be the monster a childhood friends to lovers story between raisha and kaen raisha is half elf half drow and kaen is stroi another elf cousin species they meet as young children remain friends for life and adapt their childhood games into more adult activities as they grow up they also explore what it actually means to be in love and whether or not their feelings for each other need a label as kaen may be aromantic and grew up with aromantic parents in their permalink did i do this write asked your mystery question is here do any of your characters have mental health concerns how do your characters deal and cope with their mental health the most prominent example is mori he has a substantial history with depression and anxiety including childhood ptsd and trauma related dissociative identity disorder he survived both abuse and a hurricane at an early age and after being placed in an adoptive family who treated him well it took years for him to recover and find comfortable stability obviously he s still dealing with the did but he and the other alters in his head have mostly worked out a system of coping mechanisms and communication it helps that he does have a caring family and many friends and a loving wife now who can all play a role in supporting him when he struggles his brother in law helped him build a little safe room in their shared home where he can retreat when the weather gets a bit too stormy and starts triggering old memories he still bears the scars of self harm and occasionally relapses when he does relapse it s usually feather plucking his wife is a medical professional though so she s quick on the case any time he gets injured whether he did it to himself or just had an accident he does also have some medications though they re mainly focused on regulating the way magic energy flows through him because the extensive healing he had to go through as a child kinda destabilized his leylines so the medication isn t directly targeting his mental health but it sure does help to have his physical health or perhaps metaphysical in this case taken care of still even with all the help available to him mori does hide things from people there are issues he won t talk about with anyone much to his own last day of nonbinary week i m asking about any characters who have gotten funky with their gender fittingly i just soent most of my day at a pride festival lol for some reason most of the pride events in my area happen in july i do have many characters who have queered their gender in some way gonna stick with the protagonists so it doesn t get too lengthy lol evarin is perhaps the most obvious being a trans woman her experience with gender is a major piece of her character journey she s close friends with some other trans characters who undergo a thorough medical transition and she has been involved in helping them as a medical singer while she herself has always hesitated to go through all of that she finally gives herself permission to change only the pieces of herself she actually wants to change and she s happier for it by the end of the story she s part of she has a full pair of breast implants no bottom surgery and a neatly trimmed set of sideburns with a goatee her transition is gender non conforming and that suits her very well and one of the biggest reasons she was able to transition that way is because of support from her husband mori who himself has always been quite gender nonconforming he is half elf half bird person quetzalin and he was raised by elves so he kinda grew up with elvish gender expectations which are admittedly rather loose in the specific region where he lives in reconnecting with the other side of his heritage however he came to learn and embrace the genderless traditions of the quetzalin still kinda worshipping the pronouns wyrms are amphibious creatures related to goblins the same way humans are related to chimps and bonobos goblins do view the wyrms as a sacred animal associating them with death and immortality goblin deities are typically depicted as wyrms with goblin saints tied to each of them while actual wyrms have no eyes at all deity wyrms are usually given one eye to distinguish them as divine beings in
