had a different plan in mind in fact the army doesn t want us anymore aaron is being involuntarily separated he has a 9 month transition course to go through and his last day is april 1 so it looks like we will be staying put for another school year we were warned of the possibility months ago we knew 1 100 captains would be let go from a pool of 19 000 guess we should play the lottery aaron didn t realize how much he actually wanted out of the army until he got his pink slip we had a dance party in the kitchen once he broke the news to me so now we are researching options who knows what will happen we ve been enjoying ourselves outside a lot this summer on memorial day we went to a local cemetery and did a scavenger hunt we had 3 teams and each had a camera we had to find all sorts of things people born before a certain year people with the same names as us gravestones with a q on them war veterans and much more we had a lot of fun and interesting conversations as we walked the sacred ground afterwards we went to a park the kids were so obsessed with playing with the cameras that they practiced taking a lot of pictures there were a few gems like this one but most of the pictures were of the playground so i ll spare you those we ve got to a lot of parks the weather has been pretty mild so far grandma and bonka came to visit again for the 4th of july we had a big party bbq tons of food fireworks and the missionaries too i thought this 3 generation picture was awesome jaron has started cub scouts as a tiger scout one of his projects was to make a treat this one was an example in the book and it was perfect for the 4th he did a great job and the cake was super yummy considering it was gluten free that s saying a lot we did some fun fireworks in the backyard we didn t realize it was miles first time being around fireworks he was asleep in previous years once the first boom happened he screamed and ran for mommy as fast as he could he cried and cried and was inconsolable for some time he was scared silly grandma took him into the house and held him through the rest of the fireworks we went to the parade as is our tradition we love our small town parade we love this little town we ve decided we are small town folk we really don t enjoy bigger cities adopted kids have a special day called a gotcha day it s the day their forever family brought them home june 3 was shawn s 3rd gotcha day i made a video for him to commemorate the day i posted it on facebook and on our family blog but in case you missed it here it is i try to update our family blog as days of junior year for sadie then senior year here we come happy summer as you all probably already know audrey got her mission call to birmingham alabama we made our big to do list yesterday and her farewell talk will be on august 24th at 11 00 if any of you would like to put it on your calendars celebrated mother s day with all the kids here these are the reasons i love being a mother i love them roger and i did the race for the cure again this year 3 years straight i think it is a new tradition for us and always love the memorial day tradition it is soooo good to see the family that we love we went on a family vacation to hawaii this month here some pictures of some highlights this was our favorite breakfast spot went snorkeling and kayaking and hiking and paddleboarding spent a day with your summer planning i promise i will be better about the monthly family letters and keep you updated with assignments and other details first of all kelsey and taylor yes they are getting married and we are so excited and happy about this fun event for our s s family here is the update of her crazy busy life the past little while she graduated with her associates in nursing from byui in april and is an rn she is now studying like crazy for her boards which she takes in utah the end of may she has also started her 3 semester bachelor program on line and will finish that next spring and hopes to continue on and received her crna she will decide where and when to do that when taylor finds out where he will be going to pa school at that time as well we love taylor and the great person he is he is from yakima wa smart fun athletic and has a strong testimony of the gospel which shows in all he does we have met his family and they are such fun wonderful people they all treat kels so well and she just loves them taylor is kind to kels loves and cares for her so much already it is wonderful for stan i to see this they match well with their interests in sports and medicine and of course the gospel he served a wonderful mission to san salvador and then went to byui met kels graduated from byui in paramedicine july 2013 he did an internship in ok and they offered him a job so he is a busy paramedic there now and has lived there since last sept taylor proposed to kelsey at the end of her slc marathon race in april and it was awesome he had told her it would be a
