list was all that and a bag of chips a term that has not made the list i decided to come up with my own list of banished words and terms language that is overused irritating or just generally bad in a minute indicates a long period of time this is in direct contradiction to the customary usage to indicate a short period of time which is likely why the term has gained currency ironic like also stupid like i ll be a while i ll be a minute see two entirely different concepts clearly conveyed now they mean the same thing how do you convey a short interval are we supposed to infer from context baseball is back so yer outta here resiliency this was a fine upstanding complimentary word now drafted into the progressive camp what used to be something definitively good has become a verbal blanket covering any number of squishy concepts now everything and everybody has some degree of resiliency and not having enough of some ill defined level of it is a bad thing a thing that must be improved at taxpayer expense out infrastructure needs to be more resilient we have to improve the economic resiliency of those left behind the word has been stripped of meaning now serving zombie like in the struggle space for market things aren t sold in markets anymore they re sold in spaces in the rv space in the consumer electronics space this feels like industry jargon that has escaped into the world it s also something i never heard of in business school i took marketing courses not spacing courses while the word is rarely heard in casual conversation it appears frequently in anything written about just about anything that is sold while likely useful on a professional level spare the rest of us please diversity equity inclusion three three words for the price of one like the recently departed resiliency these words were long ago stripped of any meaning and such meaning as is attributed is a perversion of the original definition progressivism progressed these words as it does all language through the process of taking a perfectly fine word stripping it of meaning repurposing it for the cause and cramming it down everyone s throats as the acceptable definition disappearing the object was white on the fore end fading rapidly to yellow orange and nearly red leaving a yellow orange trail no sound i suspect something large enough to make it through the upper reaches of the atmosphere but not massive enough to last any longer space junk but whether the natural or artificial sort hard to say the short duration argues for something more fragile than rock on the other hand no responsible entity would de orbit over populated areas on the gripping hand not everyone on orbit is responsible some say that the notable increase in fireball sightings recently comes from something called the anthelion sporadic meteor source no i hadn t heard of it either there seem to be six count em sources of non shower meteor activity you can look it up here here and pattern a common occurrence in the vicinity of hio second busiest airport in oregon it was night and what struck me was that the air navigation lights were all amber and there were no strobes it was night but the aircraft was on base leg so fairly low a single engine prop in conventional low wing configuration so nothing unusual about the machine i just thought it strange to be showing illegal lights i have never seen an aircraft of any description with amber markers more noise than a fireball standing outside in a strip mall i heard the v8 rumble it sounded like straight pipes the american cross plane v8 makes a distinctive noise dear to gearheads everywhere but any soundtrack becomes offensive at high volume and that s what we had it was night but the vehicle appeared to be a decent home grown nissan frontier pickup lowered and money spent on suspension to do it right nice wheels a likely functional cowl induction hood and a honkin v8 the truck needed painting but the bodywork featuring a clydesdale and a bald eagle american icons was apparently the top super bowl ad this year but as i watched neither game nor ads i was unware the original spot ran a full 20m minute but the later spot has been cut shorter important to note that the price given is just to buy the airtime production and associated campaign is not included making the bud ad a near 50m proposition that s a lot of six packs reception has been overwhelmingly positive with many commenting on the emotions wakened i ve only seen the tv version live so that s the subject a young horse an eaglet the horse finds the the eaglet on the ground at what looks like the start of winter one wonders where the bird came from there don t appear to be any trees large enough to host a bald nest within falling distance i ve found fallen birdlets and like acorns they don t fall far from the tree the next scene shows the eagle riding the horse which begs the question how did the bird get up there it can t fly and horses don t have hands and it s not just one time the bird mounts the horse for multiple flight attempts as far as launching pads the horse is ideal as it is shown to achieve speeds that allow it to gallop through multiple seasons in a very short period of time you could fling a rocket into orbit at that velocity as shown the bird raises questions bald eagles typically fledge in about three months during flight training the eagle sports the plumage of a bird 1 3 years old one wonders if this is a particularly slow bird it should have learned to fly long before the final scene shows the
