winters family skip to main skip to sidebar winters family sunday may 1 2016 our california adventure whew we made it back safe and sound from our fabulous california adventure october 2014 day 1 flew to san diego scored some sweet tickets on southwest for 60 one way no one threw up or had their ears not pop good flight day 2 went to seaworld some of the highlights were watching the dolphin show there were dolphins swimming jumping and pushing the helpers through the water birds flying over our heads girls flying through the air on a cable line and high divers pretty cool show another fave was watching the killer whale show kali and mom sat in the splash zone and were totally soaked with ocean water yuk but it did feel really good because it was hot out those animals are amazing watching them jump out of the water so incredible day 3 went to legoland my kids were most excited about going here they have these lego cars and the kids drive around in them in their own little city they loved it and there was no line so they got to do it over and over again there was this litlte show about these fire fighter training program that was hilarious we watched it again the second day they use the fire hose to spray the kids in the close up rows and caden got drenched they had this lego miniature land where all the scenes were made out of legos pretty incredible las vegas strip all the star wars scenes the capitol with moving band too many to mention we let the kids take our phones and take pics of anything they wanted i think they took a picture of every scene in one of the rooms the kids could build their own car and raced it down a track caden and chris really got into this we got to see the lego chima movie in 4 d that was fun too then we went on some more rides day 4 spend another wonderful day at legoland this time we hit the other side of the park that had more rides part of legoland is this new sea life aquarium it was really awesome it was so colorful maiya loved looking at all the fish it had a really sweet jellyfish exhibit and the girls were excited to see the sea horses they had a cool shark tunnel that was longer and cooler than at sea world plus there were lego built scuba divers inside there was a really ugly fish with teeth it was the strangest thing the kids got to meet emmet and tour the set where they filmed the lego movie everything was awesome it took 10 guys 11 months to build the whole set pretty crazy every scene was there side detail so now that we are sharing the shower with all of our kids they have since discovered dad s razor yep first one down was chris he cut his thumb across it i don t know if kali was curious how it cut chris but the next time she was in the shower she had three little nick marks on her chin from trying it what is wrong with our kids to top it off then the next day caden had to try it even after we told all of them it s not a good idea after chris was cut yep another 3 little nicks from dad s razor caden later said you re right mom i m never going to shave again until i m a grownup about time it s sinking in it was pretty funny day 5 we went to disneyland just updating 5 1 16 so i don t remember the details as much maiya was a trooper she really was so good because of her we got to do the stroller pass and get double rides the highlight was the cars ride on one of the days we stopped at the beach and the kids loved to play in the ocean waves and sand this was such a fun family vacation we all had a wonderful time and made some awesome family memories posted by our family at 8 40 am no comments monday may 5 2014 caden s 5th birthday caden s lego movie birthday party i can t believe my little guy is 5 yrs old now soon he will be going to kindergarten all my kids love legos so having a lego party was just what he wanted i have to admit i really love planning my kids birthday parties here s what i made for the party yes that is indeed the kragle super glue i was pleasantly surprised how that turned out the pinata was made to look like mr businessman s head the goody bags that looked like legos had a coloring book crayons lego marshmallow head and lego candies in them plus they had the pinata candy i knew that i wanted him to get all the lego movie characters on his cake so i bought the cheapest set with emmett wildstyle and the bad robot then i scored some single mini figures for mr business and bad cop my husband had the idea to write happy bday caden with legos yes we did wash all of them before we put them on the cake thanks mom for scoring some lego candy at winco my sweet kali grabbed some empty milk cartons from school so with a little duct tape they were now the piece of resistance the cap to the super glue now for the party first emmett was a construction man so i gave each one of the boys a base with wheels and they got to build their own car and race it down an inclined table most of the boys got really into this next my girls hid each piece of resistance throughout the house and they boys had to find their number they tried to hide the older boys ones a little harder and then the resistance was taped to their backs once they found their piece they had to race through our set up obstacle course and place the cap on the kragle in order to save the world from being super glued caden was helping his friend put the cap on since they capped the kragle they beat mr business so they got to knock him down in the form of a pinata i hot glued and taped up an empty cereal box my husband didn t think the boys could break it so we didn t let them use a blindfold sure enough it lasted through all 9 kids before it finally broke i had prebagged all the candy so everyone got the same amount finally the boys came in for some cake and ice cream then opened presents something funny about the candles right before the party we realized we only had 4 candles left so we wrapped a big candle with a yellow plate and viola it was a lego head and now he has 5 candles he loved his birthday party and i love that smile of his posted by our family at 7 17 am no comments sunday november 24 2013 teya s butterfly birthday party this was teya s 6th birthday party she wanted a butterfly birthday when she was little we asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said i wanna be a butterfly too cute posted by our family at 11 16 am no comments 1st day of school posted by our family at 11 14 am no comments turkey time november 2012 we had a wonderful thanksgiving popo grandpa dong uncle steven riley aunt jana texas and zuki jana s kids i mean dogs all came to celebrate with us we had such a good time together i got to decorate the table scape and make a lot of the food it was fun being in charge this year i have to say the sweet potatoes were my favorite although anything you add brown sugar and marshmallow to how could anyone not like that one new tradition i started this year was having everyone write down what they are thankful for on slips of paper before dinner then i rolled them up and baked them in the croissants so during the dinner while they were eating they found little surprises in the bread kind of like fortune cookies we had a fun family competition of minute to win it games it was hilarious we had a great time too bad i didn t take more pics i must say these games were so much fun for kids and adults posted by our family at 11 11 am no comments vacation to utah summer 2012 it has been 5 years since we ve visited utah it was sooo nice to get back there we had such a blast here s a little summary 1st went to my wonderful cousins wedding i love all my cousins they are so fun to hang out with he married a beautiful girl they are just so cute together the wedding lunch and reception were all so beautiful the bride s dad has his own band so of course we rocked out and danced a ton my sister and i rock n out the kids met up with their cousins they never get to see they live in md but were staying in ut while jeff was away for 6 month even though they haven t seen each other in a long time they immediately hit if off and played so well with each other there s the happy couple on monday my parents jana katie s family and we went to the water park called cowabanga it was so much fun there s a lot for little kids to do chris never wanted to get out of the wave pool the kids could have stayed their all day i was so proud of teya she went down the scariest ride a really high tube that was completely dark the whole way down she said it was scary but did it and that s pretty good for teya good thing it was the first ride she tried everything else was easy after that one we visited temple square they have a new visitor center with a children s play area that the kids thought was really cool of course seeing the huge temple and christ image is always a treat then off to byu s campus we love that place a lot of great memories here s the tunnel that ben and i walked a billion times while we went there of course the best highlight was that we got to watch a byu football practice we felt pretty special because it s really hard to get in to watch a practice we were all sporting our byu shirts ben was like a little boy on christmas morning we love our team at the end of our trip we visited my grandma taylor i love this lady she s still going strong she can even play the piano still she been my adopted grandma forever she even sends birthday cards to all of my kids and cousins she s so awesome we just love her so much posted by our family at 10 56 am no
