of her new patterns i really wanted to take some pictures of firework at the beach but the weather did not cooperate here is a photo of the finished top on my design wall you can see how vibrant the colors are i enjoyed using the light green for my neutral sometimes it is fun to use a color as a neutral instead of black or white i used hobbs heirloom cotton for the batting i pieced with aurifil and quilted with superior king tut this photo shows the binding in progress i often use binding that matches the outer border of my quilt but this time i chose this blue and red orange pink fabric do collection and also as a stand alone instant download pattern i love this beautiful photo they took of the tango quilt it looks like it s enjoying some soft morning light this quilt finishes at 66 x 78 it s a nice size for any bed i love it on my king size bed i use a store bought comforter on my bed and lay my quilt on top of that it covers the top of the bed beautifully and protects the underside of the quilt i made my version of the tango quilt using island batik lumin fabrics pieces from my stash i adore the way it came out the colors are so relaxed and lovely plus it s super cuddly this quilt is made with two different blocks that fit together to make the pleasing design it s suitable for skill level confident beginner and up i used a fun purple thread for the quilting it s nile delta king tut by superior which you can also purchase from connecting threads the batting is tuscany supreme unbleached cotton by hobbs my favorite batting it makes such a plush cuddly quilt stopping by sunflower spice is my new signature fabric collection with island batik lumin fabrics designed by jerry khiev disclaimer the fabric used to make these quilts was given to me by island batik lumin fabrics the sunflower spice collection is a beautiful rainbow of fabric red orange yellow green blue and purple designs include sunflowers leaves tossed petals and foliage it is simply gorgeous and has something for everyone you can make a rainbow quilt or a cool lime teal and purple quilt or a sizzling hot red yellow and orange quilt and so on and so forth and what have you the combinations are endless i love it i hope you do too the sunflower spice fabric collection and accompanying patterns should be arriving local quilt shops now i made four new quilts and patterns to support the sunflower spice fabric line here are my quilts any which way this playful design incorporates flying geese blocks in thirteen different colorways and are arranged any which way to create the same direction as the bricks this quilt is all about the simple joys of being a child the variety of bright rainbow bricks criss crossing this quilt top are made with a stitch and flip technique
