fun seeing what it would be like to be a firefighter they got to spray the fire hose and pretend to put out a fire they all loved that i love that miya turned to pose i am not sure that firefighters ever do that but hey she s all girl what can i say some of miya s friends mimi adam stella and teiki they all got a junior fire fighter hat to take home the girls were thrilled to get pink and miya mother of three so it has been 3 months since william was born and i am now a mother of 3 everyone gave me their opinions on the third child the transition to 2 was harder the transition to four was the hardest once you have done 3 you can have an army well i heard it all from all the wise mothers out there and i believe them but i guess it never truly sank in because seriously it has taken me three months to finally get back to the swing of things or at least feel like i am not a sinking ship waving my white flag of surrender i still don t have it all together there are many things that are lacking but i have learned to let some things go i just don t have the time for everything and with three children i have even less time how do you find the time to do all that you care about i always feel like i am falling short that i just can t do everything that i want and need to do i look at other mothers and think how is their house always so clean their kids are perfect they are always so skinny their food is always delicious they are so spiritual etc etc etc they are basically perfect what am i doing wrong why can t i find the time to do everything that i care about yes i do care that my house is most of the time cluttered with toys dirty dishes piled up laundry needs to be swept vacuumed dusted etc etc etc i care about doing all the things that are expected of an active member of the church praying reading scriptures attending the temple planning and completing meaningful family home evenings magnifying my calling etc etc etc i care about being a good family member and friend and trying to find time to call text visit plan playdates with the kids etc etc etc i care about how i look and how my kids look and trying to keep up on physical appearance hair cuts makeup doing hair plucking eyebrows painting toe nails eating right exercising shaving legs and armpits showering daily clipping fingernails and toenails etc etc etc there are also many other things that i care about home decorating yard work cooking baking serving others being up to date on doctors and dentist appts paying bills couponing reading a book etc etc etc but i also care about my damon and my three kiddos and spending time with each of them it is a real struggle i have trying to balance all the roles i have mother housekeeper teacher wife etc etc etc i know i am problaby just a big fat complainer but where does everyone else seem to find time to do all the things they care about and after trying to figure it out and beating myself up over it over and over and over again i realized it doesn t really matter we all have things we care about and it is just about prioritizing the things we care about most and for me i don t care as much what people think when they come over and see the toys all over the living room because it means my kids have been playing and having fun it is okay that i have dishes in the sink i will get to them when i can it is okay if i don t make it to the gym some mornings because my baby woke me up every hour during the night etc etc etc the most important thing that i have learned is that i have three children and a husband that i care the most about and they come first i will try to accomplish the other things too but for now i want to spend as much time with my little family while i can because 20 years from now i don t want to look back and regret not holding my baby and rocking him to sleep instead of plucking my unkempt eyebrows i doubt i will look back and say i wish i would have really spent more time mopping cleaning or dusting but i would look back and regret not spending more time with my children i have heard it from all the experienced mothers out there it goes fast don t blink it is so true i can t believe miya is already 5 she goes to kindergarten in the fall and i have already started crying and regretting the time i didn t spend with her while she was home and i still have some months to recover this post is mostly my thoughts just rambling around but hopefully someone else who struggles to find time for everything may get some comfort in knowing that they aren t alone when we look at other women and think they can do it i should be able to it really doesn t matter it is most impotant that we are trying our best and not to compare ourselves to others we do what works best for us and for our families i love my family and i am grateful for the time that i am able to spend with them posted by jamilla at 3 24 pm 7 comments monday january 16 2012 william s blessing day we decided to have william blessed on new year s day i love this picture of me and my kids seriously it shows their little personalities we don t even try to get anyone to smile any more it is a miracle if all three are just looking at the camera damon s parents came to ring in the new year with us and were able to attend the blessing as well we were so surprised when damon s two best friends from childhood were able to attend they both had to work but luckily they work in salt lake and could pop in for the blessing it gave the congregation a bit of a scare to see two uniformed officers walk up to damon in the circle it meant a lot to both of us to have them come the rasmussen side of the fam the harash side of the fam and the proud papa i am so grateful to have a husband that is able to bless our little boy he gave a beautiful blessing and of course i cried i swear it must be the post pregnancy hormones i always cry i am just so grateful for my husband who honors his priesthood and has a strong testimony of the gospel i am grateful for my children they are each little miracles i am so grateful for the gospel in my life and the peace that i feel i am grateful for beautiful days like this one we were able to share in the blessing of william i hope that we have many more days that we can share in the joyful ordinances of our children they are such a blessing posted by jamilla at 10 46 pm 1 comment december in a nutshell there were so many things going on in december too many to count but we did manage to capture a few of the more important moments miya took a ballet class this year and was so cute showing off some of her new moves its tradition christmas eve jammies santa pulled through and brought these cute girls what they wanted for christmas the barbie slugbug and my little pony castle that has been talked about for way too long i love the pout on emma s face santa brought the girls the nursery furniture for their dollhouse and emma was so sad that it didn t come with more babies i guess the twins that came with the original dollhouse are not enough for her william enjoyed watching his sisters open his presents for him this is a horrible picture of all of us because we didn t dare take william out of the carseat to actually take a decent picture he was ready to get home to bed by this point on christmas day grandma julie and grandpa harash gave miya and emma bikes for christmas it just so happened to fall on the year with a snowless december so the next day they were able to get out and ride their new bikes emma is doing much better riding hers than anticipated party they had so much fun our little william was a ghost my sister had gotten this ghost onesie as some random gift so i inherited it as soon as she found i was having an october baby btw i ditched the hat after this i don t know why i put it on him in the first place we went to damon s work where the girls really enjoyed trick or treating through the haunted offices of thomas arts the had some real fun activities and yummy treats after as well on halloween night we went to chelsea s and had some yummy soup and pumpkin shaped bread bowls then it was off to do more trick or treating i love that chels dressed up like her husband the orkin man so glad we have cousins to trick or treat with p s i am kind of mad at myself for not taking better pictures of halloween but i guess i did just have a baby i am lucky i even went anywhere that makes me feel better and a little justified for the horrible pictures i did take and the many pictures i should have taken and didn t posted by jamilla
