tolle there were times in my life when i worried about everything reflecting on that today those times were generally clouded by some traumatic event or some extremely stressful time when the world seems out of control like it sometimes did during covid or even now with the current political environment it can be hard to stay focused on the present some people do not need an unexpected event to drift into the past the future or the vast emptiness of the internet i am sure you know those people who cannot focus on a personal conversation without looking at their phone is it a form of escapism if so from what normally when i go visit my children i stay so focused on the moment i forget to pull out my phone and take pictures sometimes on the last day of my visit we may scramble to take a few shots of us together when my mother in law used to visit us about 3 4 days before the visit came to an end she was already transitioning back home phone calls emails text messages flights rental cars you name it the visit always came to a premature end i do admit i have worries about our country the climate and the earth in general maybe because i have children and grandchildren who will inherit the world long after i am gone i hope for a better place for them with dreams of them thriving in a peaceful and more united world i will leave you with a few thoughts to ponder comment below or you bloodwork from last week i could have read the results online but why ruin the weekend i will just let my doctor interpret everything and tell me what changes if any i need to make since my husband s bypass surgery we have been very careful with what we eat as a result i have lost a few pounds and feel a little better so that s a win in my book yesterday i spent the day helping my son build graphics for a small business venture he is undertaking it was fun chatting back and forth with him over discord brainstorming and creating it was good to use my technical skills but not enough to make me miss the workplace friday i go to the ophthalmologist for my 5th eye injection even though the injection itself does not really hurt it is all the prep work and anticipation that gets me going i am still forever grateful to have this treatment my maternal grandmother had some macular degeneration but as far as i know she was the only one in my family that suffered from it i do not know what if any treatment was available to her but i do remember well the very thick glasses she wore hubby has a regular maintenance appointment for his truck at noon today i am going with him and while at the dealership we plan to test drive a few more cars deciding on the next car to buy has not been an easy process besides the cost there is so much more to consider i haven t participated in bushboy s last on the card photo challenge in a long time so i thought i would try to get back in the swing even though i am a few days late this was the last photo i took in may 2026 yogurt banana and a fresh in the past i have been googling and re following favorite bloggers to get back on track yesterday quite by accident i discovered almost all of the bloggers i follow had been filtered into my email junk folder which i never peruse what irritates me most about that is the email system forwards true spam to my inbox daily but email i intentionally subscribe to never makes it to my inbox venting for a moment reader is not much better i have been using reader to try and catch up it does not move posts i have read elsewhere which means i must page through them over and over again it is tedious i apologize if you thought i just didn t read your blogs hopefully all will be rectified this week so over the coming days i will be unsubscribing and resubscribing to many of you in an effort to get things delivered as they should be for fellow bloggers that follow a lot of people how do you manage staying on top do you read every post from everyone you follow or do you pick and choose do you noun use it any way you d like enjoy i read linda s post last night and went to sleep thinking about the word and almost decided i would skip socs today but bright and early this morning i changed my mind my post title might be a little misleading that s because it was intended to be it is part of the backstory of a country song that came to mind as soon as i opened my eyes this morning shania twain had a song called that don t impress me much the song is about how men who think they are special didn t impress her i cannot recall another song at the moment that contains the word impress hmmm the back story is about why she included brad pitt s name in the lyrics it seems there was a scandal when playgirl magazine published paparazzi nude photos of brad pitt she was referring to the
