cobra disney film jaanese film movies the spirit comments 1 i am constantly unimpressed when having to write a review for a host of movies released on big screen nowdays the spirit i saw just recently made me go bleh i didn t make the premiere of bedtime stories which i was kinda hesitant i mean sandler is a hit and miss for me personally in a recent chit chat with a film school buddy we started discussing the lack of good films but also the total excitement we have as we await the release of certain films in manila i only hope and pray that some of these films are shown here i am happy the curious case of benjamin button is here i hope the wrestler makes it here congrats to the awesome mickey rourke for his golden globe win there are a host of movies i wish and i mean i wish they make it here gran torino slumdog millionaire oh god and how i plea for the release of some of the more amazing asian cinema releases i am waiting for dvd is my last source as i am bogged with mainstream cinema releases and usually broke from purchasing original dvd s here i found myself looking over the bargain bins again and finding a few nuggets here and there i still find them mainstream but at least it s cheap right so instead of spending 1000 pesos for the awaited machine girl kataude mashi garu which i found i used the money bargain bin hunting and decided to collect movies in this order movies so bad they are awesome b grade slasher horror zombie flicks old school disney classics because they are awesome so kiss my ass so in this order and under movies so bad they are awesome category i got the classic stallone movie cobra oh and i simply could not resist the david bradley classic which amazingly i cannot find a video to post kinda lazy atm american samurai i have always been a fan of classic horror films and some new stuff is impressive 28 days and 28 weeks later are faves and i just decided to get the romero classics as well day of the dead night of the living dead and the new tribute 2000 releases so my days are full watching the heads roll explode or just find sick glee in the dismemberment of the undead as for the disney stuff plain a s simple do not f with the classics thanks to the joy of hd i am looking more forward to zombie flicks in the high def mode so exciting so i am saving up for the blu ray version of zombie strippers well whatever your free premiere yes the excitement anyways i started looking back and doing research on my favourite character of all time from then i started to delve into a few more of my past film interests a few grindhouse numbers the occasional b grade action flicker then cult horror films going across the web briefly to find a plethora of interesting sites that started to peak my interest once again and bring back memories of hours in my room watching these films endlessly the jaded viewer posted on monday an ad reel from an old flick and he brought up a name i hadn t heard in ages freakin tim ritter yes the same ritter of bloodsucking redneck vampires omg then i though it can t be did he and the jaded viewer did he posted the film preview and i had to watch it shortly after i looked at it and was in a half amazed half saddened state like it s not what i remembered in fact if i allow myself to admit it it was pretty shit i dunno see for your self see what i mean well maybe you don t but somehow it amazed me back in the day sneaking into my room as a kid with the volume turned low watching in amazement at the action for example my greatest interest in filmaking started not with a kubrick great or a spielberg masterpiece but with a 1980 s film staring robert powell harlequin it was the simplicity of the story i gues just something in it captured me and i realized that many films nowadays now without some special effect to keep me in the loop i lose interest after 20 minutes because they lack the necessity of every great film a good storyline where has the art gone sure there are great films coming out but my rant is fueled by that of not being able to truly find something that truly and greatly seduces me back to that childhood amazement in film with all the rubbish straight up big media hype blockbuster which admittedly i like the occasional few where is that random indie slasher b grade grindhouse wonder i hope to see one soon so to conclude this little verbose
