kingbobyjr rumble ipa by great divide brewing company i m sitting on my back deck out in the fresh air of a near 70 degree day in late november wait what yep that is correct near 70 degrees is the temperature today so i figured why not enjoy beer 363 rumble ipa by great divide brewing company outside rumble ipa is brewed in denver coloroado and is an american ipa with an abv of 7 1 of note here is according to the label this is an ipa that is oak aged i love me some oak i broke out my starr hill glass for the pour the color of rumble was an amber with orange highlights to it it had a nice off white head the nose was very light almost to the point of it not really smelling like anything odd if anything i got more of a malty caramel like aroma and maybe a bit of an herbal smell again all of that was very faint where was the citrus where was the hops the taste was very subdued with a bit of pine and a bit of just a tad sweet caramel malts it had an herbal almost vegetable like flavor near the back end very strange the bitterness was fairly light in the medium bodied brew and the carbonation was fairly low i m not sure what i was expecting here but i really didn t get this i didn t get any aromas or flavors of the oak aging none of that nice woodsy vanilla buttery smooth flavor this wasn t horrible i just didn t think it was all that good and then there were 2 rating d share pale ale by lagunitas brewing company super early review as i will not be around for most of the day as we celebrate out turkey day today so lets get drinking before noon beer 362 is new dogtown pale ale by lagunitas brewing company this american pale ale is brewed in petaluma california and has an abv of 6 2 looks good sporting a clear amber color with a small white head the nose was quite fruity citrusy and floral nice and hoppy wow quite tasty with pink grapefruit being the star here pineapple a light semi sweet caramel flavor and bread crust near the back end of this medium bodied with a moderate amount of lightly stinging carbonation make this brew an easy drinker and that is what i needed drinking this at 10 am overall a very tasty brew that i enjoyed on this fine morning and then pangaea by dogfish head happy thanksgiving everyone here is to hoping everyone out there is enjoying a nice day with family friends or whoever you typically spend this day with the weather at least in nj has cooperated lets just hope my cowboys do the same and put a smack down on the dolphins who all of a sudden look unstoppable beer 361 comes to me from milton delaware by way of dogfish head let me introduce pangaea a belgian strong pale ale with an abv of 7 pangaea as you may or may not know was the super continent that existed 250 million years ago and eventually broke apart to form the current continents cool stuff into my cowboys pint glass went this clear amber liquid and sitting atop that was a nice sized off white head can you say ginger that familiar aroma was quite evident in the nose so much so it even conveyed the spiciness of that awesome root me personally i love ginger so this smelled really good to me there were other spices at work here also coriander and black pepper came to mind for sure i picked up on that familiar belgian yeast thing too along with bread there was quite a lot going on here in the nose i took a sip wow nice and spicy just like the nose suggested the ginger was mixed with what i thought was a bit of a white grape like flavor it had a very light cinnamony finish and aftertaste to it this moderately bitter brew had a medium body leaning a bit towards heavy it was quite slick feeling in the mouth this was another delicious beer your mileage may vary since i know ginger isn t everyone s thing i loved the spiciness and believe that at this time next week my journey will be over it will come to an end on november 28th but until then i have including today s beer 6 left lets get drinking beer 360 is hop wallop by victory brewing company this american double or imperial ipa has an abv of 8 5 and is brewed in downingtown pennsylvania into another pennsylvania brewers sly fox pint glass this went the color of this beer was a clear orange or golden amber it had a very thin white head the nose smelled heavy and syrupy with grapefruit and bready malts hops up front with grapefruit orange peel basically a nice citrus fruity overall flavor and then it gets malty and sweet with caramel mostly the body is pretty heavy sticky syrupy it coats as it soothes and the carbonation is pretty low nice and smooth with moderate bitterness coupled with the abv hidden really well makes this very drinkable i make no bones about ipas and dipas are probably my favorite styles of beer and this didn t disappoint an 359 winter ale by summit brewing company november 22 2011 by kingbobyjr winter ale by summit brewing company a winter warmer in november even know it is still fall this just seemed appropriate for the nasty weather day we are having today and what is that winter warmer i speak of why it is beer 359 winter ale by summit brewing company from st paul minnesota this beer is brewed in the style of a winter warmer as i alluded to before and has an abv of 6 1 into my pint glass went this very dark liquid dark brown possibly black in color the head was pretty much non existent i took a smell lots of chocolate and an earthy nutty aroma greeted the nose so far so good so i took a taste it had some decent roasted malt flavors up front with chocolate a bit of dark fruit raisin like thing and some brown sugar towards the back end it was coffee mixed with cocoa and that cocoa went on into the aftertaste medium bodied moderate carbonation and highly drinkable was this yummy brew i liked this quite a bit though at times i thought of this more as a porter but it still was nice and tasty i m not sure how this could keep one warm in the winter i would think the abv would have to be jacked up kingbobyjr hazed infused by boulder beer company beer 358 finds me swilling down something called hazed infused by boulder beer company from boulder colorado the abv of this american pale ale comes in at 4 85 it poured a nice golden amber color with a fluffy white head excellent lacing did that head leave behind the nose was a bit on the light side with gentle aromas of citrus some pine and soap yep soap the taste was not soapy at all thank goodness it had some nice hoppy heavier flavors of orange tangerine and pine mixing with caramel malts the body was fairly light it had a gentle bitterness and with lower amount of carbonation that made this quite smooth it was quite drinkable and was gone quite fast quite close your eyes look deep in yourself step outside yourself and let your mind go frozen eyes stare deep in your mind as you die this was quite enjoyable i enjoyed the higher concentration of citrus hoppy flavors here it was quite a refreshing beer quite what the heck being on tonight and the jets playing this past thursday i can t think of a better time to break open beer 357 winter rental black lager by east coast brewing from new jersey then now this is east coast brewing company s 2nd beer they have brewed since founding the company in 2007 brewed in the style of a euro dark lager this beer has an abv of 5 6 it poured a very nice dark ruby red color with an off white head this had a nice light roasted malt aroma with some caramel and coffee the taste started off with a bit of a hoppy slightly bitter pine like flavor and then it got into the malts with roasted coffee esque flavors and a bit of caramel this had a body just south of medium and north of light it had moderate amounts of carbonation and was fairly smooth this was a nice solid beer from beer 356 i have already had 52 53 if you include tonights beers from pennsylvania in this 365 the most from any state otto ale is my beer of choice for tonight brewed by victory brewing company from downingtown this is classified as a smoked beer and has an abv of 8 1 interesting to note here is this belgian dubbel styled smoked beer was created based on the experiences bill covaleski and ron barchet co founders of victory brewing company had on their trip to bamberg germany in 1987 into my new glass a long trail brewing company glass that the fine folks at oak tree wine spirits http www oaktreebuyrite com gave to me after my purchase there today went this dark amber brew with a very nice sized thick tan colored head the nose was smoky think camp fire malty and a bit fruity with raisins and i thought i got a whiff of some grapes it started off with a slightly sweet caramel malt flavor that melted off into a lightly smoky flavor similar to liquid smoke if you cooked with this you know what i mean there was a bit of brown sugar here too the fruits i picked up on in the nose didn t really translate in the taste it had a medium body and some very fine light carbonation that made this creamy the alcohol was hidden very nicely here this was an interesting beer i really didn t get the belgian dubbel aspect of this but i do find myself really enjoying the smokiness found in this style if you dig smoked beers or rauchbiers give this one a shot cheers again to oak tree wine spirits in south plainfield new jersey as they were my go to beer store for the majority of this 365 i will be visiting them in the future as their selection of beers is really unmatched where i live team that up with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff and the little things like a free long
