paranormal case of found family while it appeared predictable in places the unique delivery and premise make this an easy read and perfect for those looking to explore a paranormal tale with a 11 2026 lee hall leave a comment mystery and atmosphere turn to a reflective psychological tale with poetic writing style what begins as a creepy atmospheric story of inheriting a seaside house that belonged to her late grandmother becomes much more for eleanor mercer who discovers her eventual calling in an immersive and descriptive reading experience much of the writing is almost poetic in terms of that description and serves as a strength in telling a tale that shifts from mystery horror to more reflective and psychological john c graham uses the setting well deliver a unique mystery that the main character must unravel while grieving and discovering is the place haunted or are the forces that surround it more than that the mystery element slowly builds into a series of reveals that left me guessing just a little as there is a fair amount of interpretation required here the possibility of what eleanor really sees and communicates with in the mirror is a point of contention but this isn t necessarily a bad thing as it allows the imagination to grow for readers within the description and poetic writing style is a story of deep reflection and even a journey for a character who eventually accepts her fate and its almost a full circle moment for much of the experience the setting really does feel like a character in its own right and has that presence to help carry the narrative through some great writing for those who like the mystery atmosphere and plenty of description then this is the one for you the sea lay heavy and dark its surface disturbed only by slow to find 500 social media followers daily or face a gruesome end the ideas within the genre work well and really do nail the unnerving concept of social media and the whole anonymity behind it who really is sending that unwanted dm and within the message is a very bold threat that forces those in jeopardy to go to extreme lengths to survive and hit the right number this is both relatable to anyone who does use social media and of course high stakes the slasher murder element feels fresh or even like we haven t had a killer like this before which is comparable to the scream franchise or even final destination here we have a threat that is invisible until it isn t and then strikes in creative ways this story could easily open up into a series as the idea could be expanded much like any good horror the pages turn quickly and there s a consistent pace that builds and picks up along with the unpredictability that plays with the readers imagination for anyone looking to take on a very much ahead of its time nina munteanu succeeds in creating an intricate and unique story that is part eco tech thriller sci fi and of course an epic vision into a potentially damning future there are lots of modern themes here that are expanded upon to create that vision of a world where technology resources politics and corporation all collide as our planet evolves from the human damage it has sustained and the decisions that have been made over time we see new strains of viruses and a fight for resources which serve as a backdrop which begins with a sibling rivalry that eventually paves the way for two sides to eventually be drawn towards revolution the writing style is descriptive and also contains a depth which is partnered very well with a lot of clearly laid out research that creates a feeling that this story is very much ahead of its time the glossary included at the end is rich and full of detail much like the book s plot the modern feelings it presents are expanded as the story unfolds over so many decades in the near future which eventually gives way to a more dystopian type world there are lots of themes at play here from totalitarian to the concept of humanity never really learning lessons from history and repeating it the two sides known as techno s or gaian s lead the story into this virulent new world that could very much be a reality someday i found myself enjoying what could be a potential version of our near future which is both thought provoking and a little scary as this story is not afraid to tell the truth and it is bold characters are believable and those who make up the main cast all have their own journey and experiences in an ever changing world that has reacted to how humanity has ultimately treated it the real question is for my latest stage writing project return to hotel doom which premiered last week and finished at the weekend this was my first ever full length play and i must thank the iver heath drama club for having me together we ve put on a great show that everyone involved should be immensely proud of not only was this a milestone moment for the club but also a tribute to a key member we sadly lost late last year john williams was a huge part of ihdc s family and i am so glad we were able to honour his memory in this show the three performances went very well and were presented to audiences who went murder and betrayal killer quill cool name is the namesake and story of one assassin who was basically forged in murder and betrayal she uses a unique array of colourful powers via a quill to carry out contract killings and even heal herself description and imagination are the strength in this page turning fun fantasy tale the story centres around quill who is given a mission and an opportunity for vengeance at the highest level it brings flashbacks and memories of struggle for our unique hero who may be a stealth assassin but also has a human side there are lots of moments and even choices that go against the grain of the usual traits seen in the genre making it a refreshing entry from shida ketza and ultimately an enjoyable swashbuckling adventure of a vengeance seeking assassin taking t done too badly on twitter reaching 65 000 followers is a huge milestone and a reflection of endurance in a space that requires patience tact and consistency alongside other people to stand in your conversational corner you do really need others to succeed on twitter and this post will lay out how i have convinced others to join me time and time again of course there are so many reasons why i could have abandoned my efforts on the platform from seeing idiot billionaires try to change things to the multitude of people saying the platform was going to sink all the way to an infinite amount of socially inept replies i ve received all of the negative things have always been outweighed by the positive to me and well that s where i ll start it is all about mindset on a daily basis twitter can provide drama discourse negativity and opinions that will bother most rational folk and to me these things are utterly useless most of that stuff doesn t actually matter to me nor does it build trust sell books find readers and even drive traffic away from the platform one of the big time reasons why i was able to find my crowd is because i adopted the mindset of tuning all of the useless stuff out having tact and sometimes not reacting to negative things pays off this also means i don t get seen reacting to so many needless things meaning my image remains clean which is a huge part of why i don t get many haters coming my way it also means the haters have to find a rational reason to not like me which is incredibly difficult as i have minded my image for years they could read one of my books but that takes effort lots of effort how you react matters and no reaction is sometimes the most rewarding and least damaging tact remember getting into random arguments really isn t something i have the time and energy for and it really is the best policy for growth and image on twitter talking of image and talking of that image these days on twitter i m probably known as a supporter of others which is driven by the fact it makes for some great content purpose is important and also a great way to spend my time from book reviews to even guide based posts like this there are so many ways to support people who are much like me it even led to the creation of a guide book and then later on a patreon which earns me regular money to then spend on creating more learning
