cassidy alison j barton these amazing editors have chosen such a powerful selection of work that i will be exploring this journal a long time in the foreward alison and bonny say at times subject matter entered the poems obliquely at times directly but always with urgency it felt less like poets choosing their subjects and more like the times we inhabit pressing their imprint on the work i ve by magdalenaball the newcastle writers festival weekend is my favourite time of the year the festival is always so warm a good antidote from what has been going on elsewhere pleasurable and accessible with well known names but also lots of locals plenty of poetry and a lot of incredible writers that i look forward to catching up with in person i also tend to say yes to everything i m asked to do
