home amigurumis art journal pages mini albums step by step off the page saturday 28 february 2015 guest designing with 2crafty chipboard for csi case 156 hello everyone and welcome to my blog thank you so much for dropping in well after not posting for weeks here i am posting twice in a couple of days thing is i have been creating some stuff but wasn t able to post anything as it was dt work just haven t had time for much else though anyway i d like to share another art journal page with you this one was created for challenge 156 over at csi 2 crafty chipboard are a major sponsor over at csi during february so the 2crafty design team have been guest designing for them now as most of you know csi is a scrapbook challenge and i don t scrapbook soooo how come i m guest designing because the lovely debbi tehrani who is the owner of csi allowed me to do an art journal page instead thank you so much debbi i am so pleased that i could be a part of this gdt this is the case file i have used all the colours having never done a csi challenge before it looked a little daunting to me at first but when you read it through it really is quite easy to follow testimony you only need to use one item from this list one of the prompts is to use the inspiration word grow so that is what i incorporated into my quote evidence you need to use at least two items from this list i have used text print flowers stamps mixed media background cursive font started off this page by glueing down some strips of paper and then sprayed over it with watered down acrylic paints i also sprayed some lindy s stamp gang starburst cape cod coral for a little bit of shimmer all of the chipboard on this double aj page is of course from 2crafty i coated all the pieces with gesso first and then used acrylic paints for the colour in the picture above you can see the atc georgian frame placed over the square collage panel the flower petals underneath the cluster were also sprayed with acrylic paint for colour as was the small piece of burlap i used one of the plain circles from the 6 clock frames and added the leafy shrub set 1 flourish over the top my favourite piece on this page is the square collage panel it comes as a 6 x 6 panel but you can cut random pieces from it and use it in a myriad of ways i simply cut off a section from one side of the panel to use on the left hand side of my double page and then cut another smaller piece for the right hand side the small seed beads were added for the touch of grey i needed and the small labels are from g45 here you can see the stamping in a cursive font and i also did some stenciling in a cursive font as well 2crafty chipboard used 6 square collage panel 6 clock frames atc georgian frames leafy shrub set 1 i d like to thank debbi and the csi team for having us 2crafty girls as guest detectives this month it was a lot of fun thank you so much for visiting and i hope you enjoy the rest of your day take care and god bless posted by hello everyone and welcome to my blog sorry that i haven t posted for a while but unfortunately life keeps getting in the way every time i think things are getting straightened out they go whoopsie again going to try making up a schedule for myself just to get everything sorted including my scrappy stuff might work might not we ll just have to see anyway i would like to share an art journal page with you today our creative corner has a tic tac toe challenge this month the idea is to choose one line from the grid below and create something using those items or techniques to take a look at the challenge here is the link so i have chosen the middle line and decided to create an art journal page using paints stamps and stencils started off by sponging on a coat of watered down gesso in the past gesso hasn t worked for me i have no idea why but when i brush it on like i ve seen lots of other people do i find i can t get the paint to stick too well then i watched a video by di garling and she lightly sponged her background with watered down gesso so i thought i would try that out and it worked now i realize my background looks fairly pale but that is the way i wanted it had i added more layers of the sprays it would have come out a lot darker in real life it is actually a bit darker than the photo shows the sprays i ve used are simply watered down acrylic paints i do have some distress sprays and some lindy s stamp gang sprays but not in the colours i was after so paint was the alternative besides which i needed to use paints to keep to the challenge criteria lol once the sprays were dry i added the stenciling with texture paste and with gesso and when that was dry i did a little stamping you can see some of the stenciling here and more of it here for the flower petals i cut some hearts from old book paper inked them with spiced marmalade distress ink then lightly edged them with gathered twigs di the first layer was simply glued to the page and then the second layer was only glued at the centre so they could be curled up a little to make them more three dimensional did the same with the butterfly this time i cut both shapes from plain paper and then stamped it on each wing with different stamps inked again with the spiced marmalade di and i coloured in the floral stamp with some watercolour crayons the pen nib was coloured with a versacolor stamp pad and then coated in clear crackle paint a closie of some of the stamping and the finished double page hope you like my little page i thoroughly enjoyed creating it even though i had criteria to fill for the challenge it is still quite liberating to just go with the flow and do whatever you feel like at the time thank you so much for visiting and i hope you enjoy the rest of your day take care and god hello everyone welcome to my blog hope you are all having a wonderful day we are at the beginning of a heatwave here in south australia going to be in the mid to high 30 s all week not looking forward to it at all come on winter lol so i am back to share the third and final instalment of my february shares for 2 crafty chipboard love 2crafty chipboard used hessian patch panel word circles i used a piece of watercolour paper and created the background on this card with some strips of paper from prima s romance novel collection and some texture paste through a stencil i then did some stamping and lightly sprayed it all with fired brick distress ink i had a small piece of the hessian patch panel left over from another project and found it was just the right size for this card i coated it with white acrylic paint and then dabbed over that with silver distress paint i really love this panel it was the perfect base for my flower cluster the word circle was coloured in the same manner but this time before it was dry i also covered it in clear glitter these word circles are brilliant small enough to use on cards but also a good size for scrapbooking and off the page projects too the inside decorated with more of the romance novel papers and also a couple of stamps well this was the last of my 2crafty projects for this month i hope you ve enjoyed this post and found some inspiration here 2crafty chipboard has hundreds of designs so i know they would have the perfect size and shape to suit any project you are working on to find more inspiration on using your 2crafty chippies why not who are making their first visit welcome and i hope you ll want to come back again this is the second of my february projects for 2crafty chipboard and of course it is another card a masculine one this time you light up my life 2crafty chipboard used light bulbs 6 clock frames these papers are a mix of kaisercraft and prima once again lots of layers so easy to do and i really love the look you simply cut some different sized rectangles distress all the edges and then layer them making sure to offset them so you can see a little of each very effective i love that the 6 clock frames comes in a set of three and that they are all different sizes so they are suitable for all sorts of projects i cut the middle sized one into two pieces and placed them under th e paper layers on opposite sides of the card i added some patches of crackle paint for texture and once again swiped the finished card with gesso the clock was coloured with versamagic midnight black and then and also with versacolor scarlet i didn t cover it completely as i wanted it to look a bit old and worn these light bulbs are so cute i am so pleased i was able to use it here and it was actually the inspiration for my greeting it was coloured in the same way as the clock and then i coated the filament with gesso once again i used a piece of chipboard cut from the blank chippie leftovers as a base for the greeting the inside was very simply decorated with some border punched strips of matching paper leaving room to write a message or even to insert a tag so this was card number two and i shall post number three in the next few days hope you have enjoyed your visit and why not pop over and see the fabulous projects created by my teamies using some gorgeous 2crafty chippies you can find the blog here and remember to find a 2crafty stockist near you simply send an email to salesat2crafty optusnet com au thank you so much for visiting and for leaving a little comment enjoy the rest of your day take care 2crafty february shares 1 hello everyone and welcome to my blog i hope you are having a wonderful day a very special welcome to my new followers thank you for joining me here love having you i haven t posted for a while as my life seems to have become quite hectic of late i m going to have to start scheduling some blogging time in amongst everything else as i m really missing my catch ups with other peoples creations it is my turn again over at the 2crafty chipboard blog and this time i am sharing some valentines day cards this one is the first of three cards that i will be sharing here over the next few days be my valentine 2 crafty chipboard used elements set 3 ornate heart set the papers used are from prima s romance novel a4 paper pad and as you can see there are quite a number of layers used my distressy tool to rough up the edges as well love that look one piece from the elements set was cut in half and used on opposite corners they were both coloured with red acrylic paint and then dabbed with glossy accents i really love the intricate design on these chippies they are so pretty and so versatile too you can leave them whole or cut them up to fit your project they may look delicate but they are quite strong the ornate heart was first covered with some coarse texture gel and then was also coloured with red acrylic paint and covered with glossy accents the inside was decorated with some strips of the romance novel papers the bottom strip is a little pocket but i m not sure yet whether i will actually use it depends on whether i end up printing the verse out on a tag or simply glue it to the card i cut a little banner shape from a blank of another chipboard piece printed the greeting onto a piec of the romance novel papers and glued it to the banner it s a good idea to keep the blanks from your chipboard as it can be cut up and used in many different ways this was a tip from janice nichols one of my teamies thanks janice great idea once everything was dry i brushed around the card with some gesso so this was the first of my projects for february and i do hope you have enjoyed it and found some inspiration over the next few days i will share the rest of my cards in the meantime if you would like to take a look at all of them together you can find them here on the 2crafty chipboard blog while you re there why not also take a look at the
