nd want to cherish their precious moments on my phone i have a note pad where i write down little things that they do and ways that they make me feel i have been keeping notes about the little ways i are no tissues i clean up your poop without thinking twice or gagging once i will carry you when my hands are already full i kiss you until my lips hurt i hold you sleeping far after my own arms have fallen asleep i ll sacrifice whatever is required for your happiness i will give you all of me even when there is nothing left to give there are so many more things i love about having my precious little babies around and i hope to always be able to remember and cherish those moments when they re grown and gone thank you to my children and husband for making me the luckiest woman in the world to be able to be a mother to these children forever 3 comments monday october 1 2012 a little perspective lately i have been noticing how having little children in my home has so much changed my perspective to see things through a child s eye and to learn so much from having them around for example at dallen s soccer practice the other day there were big boys playing basketball on the court next to their field i watched my big yet tiny little boy running around and couldn t help but realize how fleeting this time is and soon he will be those big boys horsing around on the basketball court my perspective on having children was changed dramatically by my trial of infertility i wonder about being able to have more children and trying desperately not to take my sweet babies for granted my perspective of time has been changed by seeing how fast moments are flying by me in my life how quickly my children grow and how the minutes and hours seem to run out by the end of the day i have so much to look forward to in my children s rapid approaching future but as i watch the days go by that i find myself trying to phrase my looking forward to the future as i am excited for instead of i can t wait for it offers a new perspective to have a young baby and an older boy at home at the same time it helps me to realize milestones in their lives in a whole new light i have gained perspective on what it means to make the most of my time i realize it when i am busy as can be versus simply sitting in the quiet as my babes sleep and listen to their tiny breathing finally dallen loves to collect rocks here in az people have rocks instead of lawns and they are everywhere nothing special but not to dallen he finds beautifully extraordinary rocks in piles of seemingly plain and ordinary rocks what a great little perspective he has and wonderful outlook on life being consumed with the duties of motherhood every day has taught me so much about life and has increased my vision of the eternal perspective of god s plan i wrote down my thoughts in a poem of how i feel about these fleeting moments that are passing too quickly and how i am doing my best to relish in their joy forget the laundry and cleaning just leave out the toys what i need time for are little girls and little boys sorry to the broom and apologies to the mop but when it comes to my children time won t seem to stop i don t care if things are not right in their place i m spending my time memorizing your sweet face all the errands and chores can just simply wait for the calendar rushes by to yet another date turn the tv off all of our shows will keep today i m going to sit and watch my babes sleep all the crafts and projects are waiting to be sewn but i m afraid if i blink you ll already be grown so no more lists or busy work and please no more dishes just watching my children grow fulfills all of my wishes i plead oh lord please help me to always find a way to have a place in manti to stay with his grandpa for a few days all of the cousins had a great time playing together but one of my favorite parts of the weekend was the temple not just seeing it every day or getting to go in it but having some family pictures taken around it it is kind of a rare occasion to get a picture of all 4 us together and what better place to have it taken thank you to my sweet sister in law for taking them here are just a few of my favorites there will be more i know that i am the only one who was happy about taking the pictures but i am so grateful to be able to capture these special and fleeting moments in time with my beautiful family 4 comments friday september 7 2012 puzzle pieces most people tell me that my kids look so similar definitely brother and sister i agree both are cute in their own ways they each put together different traits in different ways and created their own little masterpieces my kids are like my little puzzle pieces dallen has mommy s face shape which i got from my mom it s hard to tell now but we had the exact same round cheeks as little ones has his daddy s nose a bracken nose got momma s ears sadly has daddy s crooked bite no doubt has daddy s eyes but their own deep chocolate brown the dark hair is a messick gene has big huge messick feet from my side got the messick gene for tan skin has dark hair from the messick side cutest thing ever has his daddy s bum and belly button sydney definitely got my nose has interesting hair she got gardner curls yet its thin and stringy like mine and dark like a messick although she has short blonde eyelashes from me her ears from daddy s side gardner ears again daddy s eyes for sure they are even the same ever changing hazel color is tall and skinny just like her momma sadly got my flat bum same tan able skin as me and d has her mommy s long skinny piano playing fingers i love every unique trait my children have and the way they are put together sometimes i wish i could have tons of children are growing faster than i ever imagined possible dallen started preschool on monday august 13th he looked so grown up and was totally ready to go he was so sentimental all day saying i love you every 5 minutes and manipulating me to play with him by saying it s my first day of school so you better play with me cause you re gonna miss me he loved his first day he was so proud and felt so special just like i wanted him to immediately after school he got in the car and woke up his sister to say it s ok sydney i m back now you don t have to miss me anymore i thought about you the whole time he is having a great time in preschool some more things about dallen a little while ago we went to a cousin s baseball game and i overheard some little girls talking about justin beiber and told dallen they like justin beiber too you should see if you can play with them and it was so adorable to watch him muster up the courage to go talk to them it was like watching a little teenage dallen and it totally melted my heart speaking of teenage dallen that boy has a little teenage attitude he watches the little teenage shows on disney channel and learns the funniest things to say like oh nards and awwwk warrrd so cute even though he is so grown up he is still my little boy and he reminds me when he says little kids things like i m drinky instead of i m thirsty or things like cattepitter caterpillar or stellakin skeleton or calling the hamper the camper when he goes shopping he picks out his own clothes and takes them into the dressing room all by himself i feel like he is way too young for this but he loves the independence or it one of my favorite things is to watch dallen and sydney interact with each other it is so special dallen tells sydney when i m an astronaut someday i will take you to the moon with me is that alright sydney do you want to go to the moon and a lot of times he calls her sydna or sister but lately he s been calling her pretty girl dallen is such a sweet boy and i love this age he s at i try so hard to maintain my patience and make good memories out of these times that are passing all too quickly sydney rose turned 8 months old just a few days ago and gets older and wiser every minute a few things about sydney she surprised me when all of the sudden one day she could crawl wave and give open mouth kisses all on the same day she has a tendency of growing really fast all at once although she is kind of funny with the growing just after she turned 2 months she started wearing 3 6 month clothes and now at 8 months she is still wearing the same clothes since her 6 month check up she has only gained a few ounces she is a tiny little peanut trying to grow up too fast she rolls around and scoots and does the cutest little bouncing thing when she s sitting she has the sweetest little voice and babbles all the time she loves the squeeze baby foods and sucks them down in less than 5 minutes she is getting so smart and has the sweetest little personality she knows what no means she plays games with her binky and when you hand her a football she puts it over her head and holds it there until you say touchdown i just love everything about my little girl but the one thing i could do without would be that she is an early riser i hope i can remember each and every high and low about this little girls life right now because it is racing by 6 comments thursday july 26 2012 my blog is my journal does anyone remember the episode of saved by the bell when jessie gets addicted to caffeine pills to help her stay awake she has a serious breakdown yelling there s no time there s never any time most days i feel like that minus the pill addiction in fact i ve had no caffeine in months because of breastfeeding which is quite an accomplishment for me i go to bed at the end of my day completely and utterly exhausted and worst of all usually with work left undone to do the next day i seriously considered quitting my blog since blogger changed everything and made it take even longer to post and thanks to instagram i don t feel the need to post my pictures so my family can keep up with my ever growing children then i realized that my blog is my journal my memory stinks so i need to write down special moments that happen in my life while i still can if not for my readers if i have any left then for myself so although our vacation to california was nearly a month ago now here is the documentation of that wonderful trip my favorite holiday week of the entire year the two kids and i hopped on a plane all by ourselves they did great we were so excited to finally get to go to the new talega pools and splash pad this is in the running for my favorite picture of the trip cousin love sydney blair dallen and his ca girlfriend siena on the giant wheel at irvine spectrum a trip to sea world az represent totally tubular just look at that face in her sparkly whale shirt she was such a trooper for the long day at sea world he was so proud to touch a starfish so glad i was able to take my boy to sea world he loved every minute of it couldn t have done it without mimi and so glad blairski and aubs could join t even 6 months pregnant when this picture was taken and now that little ultrasound picture is my beautiful 6 month baby girl our little rosebud is a pure joy to have around she is the best little baby she only fusses when she has a real complaint hungry bored or tired sydney sits up so well loves to eat carrots and plays with all of brother s toys we have lots of nicknames for sydney i sometimes call her ms rose dallen calls her syn or sydna and most often we call her sister she is a great little sister to her super brother the two were made to be the best of friends no one can get a laugh out of her quite like her brother can he always has to kiss her first thing in the morning and last thing before bed we all love to kiss on syd she is just so perfect i couldn t have ordered a
