february 26 2014 cub scout marbles i m currently the webelos leader which is the cub scout leader of 10 year olds i have 10 webelos and they are super fun we worked on the marbles belt loop today who would have known that they would love marbles so much i guess generations of boys could have told me that i have a bunch of antique marbles so i made them all a set of 13 with a shooter in a marble happy birthday miriam is 5 years old and we had a tea party birthday some girls here just couldn t wait for the friends to arrive let the tea party begin it is amazing how special sandwiches carrots grapes and animal crackers become when they are served in crystal silver or china dishes i let the girls use my real china they had hats and gloves it was quite the party we made necklaces played musical chairs and pin the tail on the donkey i think the best part was being fancy posted by melissa at 11 24 am no comments labels miriam the kids friday january 17 2014 back to blogging with my family of 10 i am coming back to my blog i have set a new year s resolution that this blog will be all of the way brought up to date that means catching up on a year and a half or two of pictures basically i gave up after emma was born and she is two now things got busy and this is one of the things that was pushed off of the plate but i am getting tired of facebook i want to take the time posting pictures in a place that i will use them in the long term as a history for my family to enjoy over the christmas break and during the last few months the kids have looked and looked through our blog books from the two years that i did post regularly it is a history of our family and it needs to continue i need a place for all of those memories captured in pictures to be enjoyed and remembered so slowly but surely i will be adding post after post going backwards we just had this picture taken in december for our christmas card funny thing is it really turned out because of just having our new baby clara there was no time for buying outfits getting a photographer etc so at thanksgiving i asked my sister in law thanks joanna if she would snap a few picture of my family so we could come up with a christmas card picture i told her that i would search through the kids closets and come up with something and that we would drive into town the next day to meet her she had a good idea for a spot and we drove down of course it was like 20 degrees but the clouds and sun were great for a quick photo we had several pictures taken in a record 3 minutes and they turned out moral of the story why do pictures turn out better when you aren t paying any money why do they turn out crummy and the kids melt down when you pay hundreds of dollars it s just how it goes sometimes and this comments monday december 30 2013 an heirloom clara s baby blessing gown was made from my mom s wedding gown my mom offered it up to my sisters and me i had this dress made from it what a treasure it is to me and i hope that it will be a treasure to her the ruffle along the bottom is the actual ruffle her pin tucked sleeves are taken from the actual sleeves and the skirt from her skirt i love it posted by melissa at 10 23 pm no comments sunday december 29 2013 a special day this little row is my greatest joy i love these children more than my heart can express who would have thought we would have four amazing boys and four sweet little girls i can t imagine life without them they are my greatest treasures today was clara s blessing day at church her beautiful dress was made from my mother s wedding gown i hope she always treasures it today nathan received the aaronic priesthood he will now act in the name of jesus christ holding the priesthood of god he will begin his lifelong service in the priesthood i am so proud of the young man he is becoming i can t believe that he is already 12 nathan is my tender hearted boy he is full of courage and selflessness nathan is brilliant in all that he tries i love this boy i love seeing the young man that he is becoming mom and dad got to come and stay the week after christmas with us to celebrate all of these momentous events a lot of our
