my different characters right now im in an oscar mood thinking about some of his dynamics he is such he is such i say this about everyone but hes such a favorite ugggggggggh the whole soft boy healer but is actually the most malicious in the guild the fact that hes both he is a genuine soft boy but literally half an inch underneath is just mischeif elation pathstrider if he was in hsr soft supportive blunt troll caring callous loves his friends more than anything annoys the fuck outta them for fun gentle coy hes just a walking landmine of you never knowing what hes gonna be like in this specific situation but he genuinely cares for his friends and pretty much no one else comittment issues heartbreaker but literally would give up an arm for coco without thinking flirts with mochi to piss off lime but then goes way out of his way to stop clarinette from interfering with them constantly making old woman jokes at madam springs but actually works hard in the practice his moral compass is sitting on top of a magnet at all times and god his timeskip doctor outfit the coat and suspenders and plaid pants just take me bro ive been reading a lot more books lately and what im reflecting on is that when i was younger i was really into characters with a ridiculous amount of good points but as i get older i gravitate way more to characters that are very obviously flawed and by no means perfect in any sense anyway time to give the guild more flaws more prominently and actually work on fleshing them out posted 1 week ago 44 tagged i just finished reading the love hypothesis which full disclosure i enjoyed it i smashed that shit in like 1 5 days but after reading it i was like damn its like a 15 year olds vision of a man he was literally perfect smart rich handsome buff tall strong rough but gentle only with her yearned for her for years after talking to her once and i enjoyed harry potter so much more just because i got to watch those stupid kids be imperfect and make mistakes over and over again ron and hermione bro i am once again falling into my ginger guy x brunette girl pairing anyway back to the guild im fleshing them out and honing on on their actual character flaws not me looking up examples of how flaw manifests and reading through it and going oooohhhh oh there might be some rough times ahead for lime specifically and i wrote like 5 sentances of reflection for mochi and was like oh yeah i see you now girl im also highly considering inserting some real consequences and developments ie character deaths i miss you mochi and lime and well inside my head when im waiting for code to run i doodle them in my work notebook some of these are messier than others the first few i drew with red pen and then lined over it the 2nd and 3rd rope we had and how we could use it to get to the bottom of a well without taking fall damage of which the result ws all of us rolling terrible athletics checks and we all pretty much fell 50 feet one after the other each crushing the people underneath shit like that would make mochi lose it or something like just rediculously funny attacks remember that scene in the mummy when oconner throws the chair at the guy and it shatters when it hits him lime did that one time to somebody but with one of those big metal mail drop boxes and mochi lost it or that legends of avantris reel where the racoon guy acts all crazy and the lawyer afterward goes eh lime doesnt nessecary enjoy being humiliated like this but it is the only time he sees mochi crack up so sometimes its worth it or something that is just obviously stupid looking that comic where she blow dries his messy hair and he looks dumb as fuck meanwhile you can have coco rolling on the floor from a single instagram reel with gen z humor ooh what you said about mochi being an average magic user compared to other witches aside from combat is so interesting does this just mean her skills are average or is her actual power level magical reserve average among the top five witches is this something that can change improve i always imagined the cat just gave her an overall stat boost in everything that made her better than the top five automatically d and if it s just her skills that are average what would you say she s best to worst at like what are the categories of things witches can be good at in your universe thanks for answering if you choose to i m a long time lurker and have been loving all the recent lore drops svgarbells her skills are average this is part of her character arc as a quick aside ive been thinking about adjustments to the lore as well so rather than the cat being on top i decided to switch it a bit so that the top 5 witches are roughly equal power wise but they have different specialties crow intelligence strategy planning direct combat power isnt as strong but it doesnt need to be because shes extremely smart and makes super efficient use of resources intelligence networks negotiation blackmail etc she can fight as well but not to the cat witches extent snake all the snake witches have been dancers i see them as like an olivia from fire emblem awakening type of role where they specialize in buffing magic the snake doesnt participate in much fights directly in my head i see her toward the back of the battlefield sheilded and dancing and as long as she does so the entire battlefield on her side gets massive buffs toad potions poisons res shred debuffing also doesnt participate directly in fights acts more as support spider traps and environmental advantage fights directly but is an absolute pain in the ass to fight because its not a face to face fight its always you fighting for your life against a miriad of very well designed booby traps once she lures you in same as the crow can fight directly but its not her strength cat the cats specialty is fighting itself she can do other things like buffing debuffing traps potion brewing but the bread and butter of the cat is being the hunter in that sense she is the strongest in a head on fight but its not always the most advantageous way to win a battle so yeah mochi is really good at fights she has naturally good reflexes and quick thinking very creative and resourceful in terms of spells to use and things to summon but when it comes to potion brewing spell tags buffing healing debuffing shes overall average i see her being actually below average at the start and by the post timeskip she really grows into her role as an attack unit and her other skills are only slightly above average and by above average i mean relative to all witches not the top 5 with the cat witch s power her other skills are naturally more buffed but she certainly cant do what murda or si am would be able to do i think this is why pom is kind of hard on her because shes concerned about her lack of skills in the other areas of being a witch especially when lime is there being amazing at everything he does and sometimes knowing more than mochi about stuff just because he read it and retained it better so pom makes that insensative but true comment about how lime would be a better cat witch if he could hold magic i think early mochi had a lot of insecurity around her magic and skills like yeah she could fight but everything else was just okay shes of the mind that truely if she was never a witch she wouldnt be special at anything at all and that haunts her lowkey over time her character arc is about growing into her power and accepting her strengths and weaknesses learning to live with them and improve them without beating herself up about it her post timeskip attitude is much better which i think is a result of her combat power being soooo op that it makes up for her shortcomings in other areas its literally the best debuff is beating the shit out of them before they have a chance to get you posted 1 month ago 30 tagged im not quite sure i know how to explain it post timeskip mochi is much more secure in herself and her magic she can heal and buff debuff and its often enough for their adventures a lot of heal buff debuff items can be purchased via the merchant or other and in fact half the time we dont even see her fight because its just so much lime wonders why she relies so much on hand to hand or very simple spells one 1 time she needs to use actual magic in a very serious fight and its literally like that acheron v aventurine cutscene just a swing of a sword and absolute decimation and it doenst even completely drain her lime understanding the true power gap at that moment shes still like haha my healing isnt as good as the springs obviously but then she can demolish a mountain actually post timeskip we have oscar for the heals and potentially coco for the buffs so mochi doesnt need to do that as much lime and taffy take up the main dps role so mochi ends up being just the guild head backup emergency muscle scenario mochi realizing she forgot to do this specific homework needs to get a passing grade in the test this morning or she won t be able to go on the school trip later lime knowing that if she doesn t go they won t be able to sneak away and go to that secret waterfall which water can be used in magic potions that mochi has been hyping up for a week the internal conflict lime has as he lets mochi copy cheat of him in order to get her on that trip no dawning realization or anything from either of them ratontop oh this most certainly happens the switch from getting by with the most basic information guessing to study honestly without cheating is a huge burden for her so many things shes learning now is built on things from previous years she never paid much attention to so shes struggling lime sees this and at first is like yeah not so easy without cheating huh see how hard this is and very quickly this dials down as he realizes she is truly actually struggling for her life and he also learns that her slacking off in school was because she was prioritizing learning magic so she would do normal human school from 8 5 and then go home and essentially do her magic learning home schooling style she wasnt being lazy and l cheater she just had a very full plate and couldnt put 100 effort into both anyway all that to say he starts to feel bad for badgering her about it so he switches to dumbass everyone knows this its obviously correct answer and you don t know that here i ll show you look he pretty much just starts tutoring her and they start doing their homework together so shes not cheating anymore but hes certainly helping her out a lot posted 1 month ago 16 tagged lime i was gonna make her do it all herself but its just so pathetic i feel sorry for her snort shes not completely hopeless without him
