the chambers thursday july 17 2014 kayla s birthday kayla had her third birthday on july 5th family was around for kevin and tiffany s wedding so we celebrated her birthday in bellingham with all of them she loves monster s university so of course her birthday had a lot of monsters picture overload woo hoo my little monster happy birthday to you blow out the candle kayla blowing out her candles bree grandma posted by erin at 10 08 am no comments labels kayla wednesday february 12 2014 bree s blessing my parents have not been able to attend any of our other children s blessings so we made it a point for them to come this time we had decided that it would be easier for them to fly here after the holidays so we pushed it back a month and had her blessed the first weekend in february in the middle of january i learned that we had stake conference that weekend ah my parents had already bought their tickets so pushing it back a week wouldn t be so easy we decided to have her blessing on saturday the first which worked really well we just had a few of our closest friends and family meet at the church bree cried through the blessing which didn t help justin concentrate it was a beautiful blessing though we all met back at our home and had lunch and enjoyed each other s company i was a little disappointed not being able to do it during church but it all turned out well in the end thanks to those who came my mother made bree s blessing gown posted by erin at 6 47 pm 1 comment labels bree church monday february 10 2014 bree s birth story when bree was three weeks old i wrote down bree s birth story just to have google lose it i lost interest in rewriting it at the time i am finally coming back to try again now at eight weeks here we go on friday december 13th i was having a lot of really intense contractions all day at around 11 00 that night the contractions automatically went to extremely painful and every five minutes i couldn t fall asleep due to the painful contractions so i got up and cleaned the house and took a bath around 3 00 am i went into the bedroom and justin woke up enough to tell me that i was not allowed to have the baby until morning so i finished up some stuff and went back to bed to my disappointment the contractions lessoned when i lied down and were not as intense anymore i got up the next morning and got ready for our ward christmas party which was a breakfast my contractions seemed to have ceased until around 11 00 am while at the party it was then that they came back feeling like the random ones from the day before we left the party at noon and while on the way home i had a very painful contraction this contraction was so intense i had to grab the handle above the passenger door and lift myself off the seat to try and alleviate some pain the contractions continues like this all day and back to about five minutes apart we called our babysitters justin s brother and his wife to come down and watch the kids they happened to be on an island in northern washington and waiting for the next fairie which was still two hours out i wasn t in much of a hurry though because i planned on waiting it out at home as long as i could by the time they reached our house it was 7 00pm and for some reason my contractions stopped around 6 30 i was so upset because if i had gone in earlier i would have been admitted and if my contractions slowed they would have given my pitocin like they did with my other kids now there was no way they would admit me justin grabbed me and we went for a long walk to try and bring the contractions back we d be walking swiftly and i would have a contraction which would make me uncomfortable i would try and slow down but justin would pull me along telling me to walk through them i had quite a few contractions while on our walk but it wasn t until we got back that they came back in full force by 10 00pm i was in enough pain that i was ready for an epidural so we headed to the hospital we arrived at the hospital at 10 30 and this being my fourth they didn t question me and got me straight into a room as i was getting settled justin was quick to say first we want an epidural and second we are trying for a v bac glad he was there to make things happen they checked my cervix and i was only 4 cm dilated after hours and hours of contractions i think it was around midnight that i got the epidural which gave me a wicked reaction my whole body was shaking horribly bad and it made my blood pressure drop once i got calmed down justin headed out to find some food it was 1 00 in the morning so he was stuck with a fast food joint i tried to get some sleep but the darn blood pressure kept going off every ten minutes which would disturb me around 5 00 i m pretty sure my water broke 30 minutes later the nurse walked in and checked me again i was 9 1 2 cm and just about ready to push i pushed through three contractions and at 5 55am on sunday december 15th my beautiful bree was born we had great nurses and a wonderful doctor who were all willing to listen to our wants and needs it was a wonderful experience and we now have a beautiful baby girl and now some pictures 39 weeks 6 days pics taken right before we left for the hospital only seconds old 7 lbs 8 oz proud daddy doing well meeting their sister her first bling bonding so precious finally home posted by erin at been having a lot of contractions the last couple of days the contractions are strong enough that they woke me up in the middle of the night last night each contraction is a bit painful in my lower
