valora highlights valora highlights tuesday august 9 2011 catching up is out of reach taking inspiration from my friend diana s blog i have a statement to make no more catching up for me either when i think of my blog i just feel way behind so in order to ever blog again i have to be fine with skipping tons and tons of stuff as in skipping the last 10 months for now my baby is no longer a week old we have just been having a total blast she is amazing and i love her more than words can ever express here she is now at almost 11 months old adi got a package from her great auntie em full of wonderful things she checked out all of the clothes and has already worn them all but best of all i think she found a new best friend can you resist that thanks aunt em and uncle jc she sure loves this little giraffe it winds up to make music and she gives it lots of loves her great uncle terry in bountiful taught her how to hug all her stuffed animals and now she is by far a pro at it she also loves to give here mommy and daddy loves my goodness every time i have another best part to my day sometimes when we tell her to give something a hug she will just cock her head and basically hug her shoulder it is so funny and cute adi also loves to go out on our back patio and explore she likes to sample the grass exploring our pots and pans cupboards i will never forget the mental picture i took the first time she crawled all the way in so all i could see was her little bum never a dull moment adi working out with her daddy she spends most of the time going between his legs or trying to crawl under him in push up position its hilarious and 1 and 2 adi give the dolphin a kiss her hair is getting so long now its fun to play with and i can clip flowers in her hair i couldn t choose between the next three pics of adelynn eating she looks so cute in her star bright bib made by our friend glendora in colorado after feeding herself a meal of avocado smeared on bread and tons of watermelon i think she looks pretty good she loves feeding herself and can t get enough of the fresh stuff i think this look says okay i am done what do you think one thing adi likes to do is to rearrange our shoes they start out in a line along the wall my arrangement for now this is her arrangement she goes down the line and fixes them one by one if she catches me arranging them back into my order she quickly does her work again to make it right in this picture she found something else to do at the end of the line outside anyone i am so happy we got this nectar feeder mid july and i was thrilled to have attracted a hummer within the first few days inspired by my sister amanda and her hubby jeremy in utah who have a thriving hummingbird population of their own i hoped for the best but had no idea what to expect in our new development and lacking proximity of trees in our yard to help the birds feel safer though we have yet to prove our commitment and consistency to earn the trust of the birds to be as successful as my sister i have already gotten so much enjoyment from this feeder and i have counted at least three different birds i also heard we are on the hummingbird migration path from mexico and the hummers usually come through in roves mid august hoping this is true posted by emily v at 2 06 pm 1 comment thursday january 13 2011 galveston shrimp festival september adi 2 weeks we are ready to go to the beach lets go baby what an adventure of a day on our way to galveston we took a scenic route due to a necessity pictured below and ended up at a lovely picnic area at the entrance to the nasa johnson space center a perfect spot complete with educational opportunities and refreshing shade on a hot september day my mama and i plus invisible baby we arrived in galveston just in time for the shrimp festival parade it was quite the show they tossed out tons of mardi gras beads i think they look great on the baby fabulous darling you look faaabulous with one of the floats baby bob and i i love our bob jogger seriously its like the cadillac of strollers checking out harbor side of galveston on a pier this is a fun sculpture on the pier historic galveston square where the party s at what could be better than mo bettah galveston police know how to ride in style one of the gumbo tasting stations sounds dangerous my favorite sight of the day after exploring the main street and festivities we found a fun restaurant on the pier serving fresh caught seafood and with the above amazing view from where we sat and ate delicious food we watched a whole team of real deckhands taking care of this beautiful ship it was so fun to watch and to think about we also saw some dolphins in the harbor as well as many sea birds including cormorants and blue herons happy new mommy and daddy happy new grandma and grandpa little cutie pants was there too she woke up to take a look at the sights what would a trip to the beach be with out some good time on the beach no surfing today but we soaked up the sights sounds and feel of it all it was so serene that it put adi back to sleep haha mom and i look closely and you can also see my daddy on the rock wall people say the galveston beach isn t that great of a beach but it is still a beach and i love the beach ahhhh what a wonderful end to a perfect day if only we could have skipped the long dark drive home and the random stop under a scary overpass in houston posted by emily v at 3 12 pm 2 comments our baby s blessing parker em baby adi grandma julie and grandpa bill adelynn was blessed on sunday october 17th we are so happy parker s parents could come down and be here to share this special day i know many more of our family members would have also loved to be here that day and we know their hearts were here adelynn s daddy gave a beautiful blessing and was assisted by his father as well as a few of our new friends in the woodlands and of course adelynn looked stunning in the dress her grandma o made for her and the blanket adi was blessed with is the same blanket parker was blessed with as a baby a little angel i am so grateful for the priesthood and not only for the special blessing my husband was able to give our daughter but for the continued blessing of having a righteous priesthood holder in our home and as my companion posted by emily v at 12 42 am 2 comments wednesday january 12 2011 grandma julie grandpa bill they came a long time ago and i am just so super slow to post about it but can t leave it behind because we had such a wonderful time together together we enjoyed our sunny texas weather and went on many adventures adi mei is so happy they came she went to the pool with her grandma and even put her legs in which was apparently quite surprising at first but then she liked splashing around even though it was cold she is such a smiley girl adi sure loves her grandma julie and grandpa bill we enjoyed alaskan salmon and moose on the grill as well as a variety of delicious grilled veggies fresh pineapple and guacamole dip yum delicious did i mention we love our pool oh my goodness i can t wait till it warms up a little bit more this spring adi celebrated her one month birthday while grandma and grandpa v were here in town we were celebrating every day though one day we went out to an absolutely delicious tuscan restaurant here in the woodlands i think its safe to say all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the company was mighty fine too i enjoyed the presentation of my chop salad it was so tasty too i don t know why i love taking pictures of food i think food is beautiful i love food and it brings back delicious memories i am actually unsure how adi felt about her first new taste peppermint her bubble blowing was hilarious of course while grandma is here we did a lot of dress ups we had fun with the fluffy fancy headband from aunt jackie of course we had to take grandpa to market street on friday night to see what kind of fancy cars we could spot its a favorite place and you are sure to see some fun not to mention crazy expensive cars there we just love to take scenic drives this drive took us to lake conroe and all over the place in neighborhoods around it and ending up in montgomery tx the county seat of where we live we saw signs to the town park but passed it twice its a little different than most park now a days i am glad we found it adi was hungry and it turned out to be a fun place to explore i love the old school playground equipment don t get me wrong i think this is super cool but talk about school ground liability king of the hill anyone at the same town park was the old town well i wish i could remember what the goat is about i am pretty sure it has some sort of historic significance well after adi had eaten her fill we were hungry too grandma julie did some asking around at a nearby antique store one of many antique stores on the main drag and found out where the locals like to eat welcome to phil s roadhouse oh my they have the best barbeque sauce i fell in love blackberry chipotle over some baby back ribs oh mouth watering memories where is the picture when i need it hahah whatcha lookin at of course we loved the decorations classy we are such a happy family and blessed to have such absolutely wonderful parents thank you grandma julie and grandpa bill
