igeration gardening without running water and more this book reveals empowering low cost off the grid living methods that make you more free get ready for an emp blackouts brownouts or just learn how to drastically conserve your resources disdained and misunderstood by the modern masses simple unhooked living can be comfortable affordable and secure when done right some people actually prefer it imagine the security of knowing that you will be fine whether or not there is power and running water water shortages power disruptions emp preparedness is key even those who don t want to live off the grid full time can benefit from the knowledge of how it s done with water shortages and power disruptions rolling across the land people who learn basic techniques of self reliance will know how to be prepared and maintain well being why not learn from those who have perfected how to live well without running water and corporate power from the city to the woods the truth about simple unhooked living is about me a city girl that went to the northwest woods and learned to live simply without electricity and running water i survived to report how my unhooked cohorts and i managed to provide for life s basic necessities simply and gracefully with very little money learn how to take care of basic needs off the grid i wrote the truth about simple unhooked living to preserve my experiences of taking care of life s basic needs without pipes and wires most people think it s impossible or horrible to live that way but actually it s rather pleasant anyone can become remarkably empowered and independent by living very simply without even electricity and running water legal access to simple solutions is slipping away since most people fear the idea mindful simplicity is often ignored with the result that the liberty to dwell simply and intentionally on the land is disappearing just when we need it most most americans recoil at the idea of simple living so while they were busy with other concerns a slew of regulations have been made against thriving and surviving simply on the land every elemental act from building a fire to drinking milk has a regulation attached to it when simple and traditional grassroots answers to life s needs become illegal the society is sick and lost and we re in big trouble people are not free when they have to ask the government for permission to survive i hope this book will play a part in waking people up to the fact that the right to intentional simple living needs to be preserved contact estar holmes to discuss land based simple living licensed massage therapist and was dumbfounded when other lmts said that parrafin forgive misspelling bath sheets of smoking clients would reek of nicotine so i did my own research on the tea leaves they used in the 20 minute bath sessions and even in poor countries cabbage was used to the same results then it hit me what s in soil that gives these plants their nutrients selenium over time selenium can help dissolve kidney stones and many other conditions the reason i decided to write on this is don t believe everything you hear and only half of what you see when i see doctors say don t give to an alcoholic it s a well documented fact that selenium robs the human body of its desire to drink and sometimes smoke tobacco i have to tell big pharma where they can stick it reply tracy december 28 2015 thanks for the information i really liked the article fyi i did an image search for the image in question and found it on over 200 websites she should be charging people for it reply david k white june 13 2015 the bill among other things excludes domestic manufacturers with less than 100 000 in gross annual sales of cosmetic products if you sell 100 000 in products a year you should be regulated reply simpleunhookedliving june 17 2015 we have acknowledged and discussed that previously reply rachel may 5 2015 can you please repost your article it doesn t matter if it has cute photos people just would really appreciate being able to read it the person can t make you delete the article as long as you ve removed the photo you are fine please share the article reply simpleunhookedliving may 6 2015 i deleted it and didn t save a backup in my files so am trying to figure out if there is a way to restore it in wordpress however in honor of the commenters who say the law is not a problem for small time operators i need to do further research in writing the original post i deferred to the handmade cosmetic alliance since they have been tracking this issue for several years and they provide a form for soap makers to contact their legislators http handmadecosmeticalliance org contact legislators aspx mc_cid 6c8949b41c mc_eid 1e14f18ba4 reply simpleunhookedliving may 7 2015 reposted with additions reply pamela walker may 5 2015 i would like to see the whole article btw if it would help tell who the soapmaker was and perhaps we can assuage her pocket book a bit reply simpleunhookedliving may 6 2015 i deleted it and didn t save a backup in my files so am trying to figure out if there is a way to restore it in wordpress however in honor simpleunhookedliving may 6 2015 thank you the spirit of the home made soap community is inspiring i deleted the article and didn t save a backup in my files so am trying to figure out if there is a want to mail me a soap pic i will use it if i do a follow up unhookedliving gmail com and please include credits and website if you want but maybe read the new version of article with more info so you don t draw attention to yourself if your making cosmetics reply sue may 1 2015 what happened to your article on the fda wanting to regulate soap makers really curious as the link from facebook says the article is gone reply simpleunhookedliving may 2 2015 hi sue thanks for asking in the heat of the moment of trying to get the info out i stupidly grabbed a generic looking picture of soap off the web to illustrate the post figuring if it was copyright protected the owner would contact me she did and asked me to take the article down i thought about changing the picture but the old versions would still be floating around i asked if she would let me try to correct my mistake by adding her website to the photo for credit i also offered to pay her what money i had in my paypal account but she was mad that i stole her picture and insisted i take the article down which i did http healthimpactnews com 2015 fda to crack down on home based soap makers summarized the post edited out where i said i was calling bullshit and replace the picture i suggest anybody interested in following this topic connect with the handmade cosmetic alliance who have apparently been working diligently on the issue by the way the response floored me as the post reach showed more than 100 000 when i took it down i really wish i had followed correct protocol and asked for permission and added the photographer s website since she makes soap and it would have been great promo for her business ordinarily things i post don t gain much traction it was fun to watch it go viral too bad i didn t do it right lesson learned a lesson i already knew because i work with images and had one of mine heisted once anyway i m glad the word is out about this proposed regulation and people are paying attention to it now reply andrew may 2 2015 she can t make you take down the article just change the picture why take the entire article down instead of just changing the picture simpleunhookedliving may 2 2015 andrew that was what i had intended then i got a call that a client needed a job done immediately so i had no time to go to my local soap purveyor to take pictures the woman had insisted that i take the article down yesterday so it was quicker to go into the accounts where i had shared it fb twitter scoopit and here and just delete it juanabeready january 22 2014 i like this already thanks for
