inked with an old quick quotes ink pad i added some paper layers and then adhered my heart strings border and the infinite circle frame after that i added my photo which was elevated with corrugated cardboard for dimension the bubbles were easy to tuck in along both sides of my photo with a few stray bubbles floating upward almost as an afterthought i added some 49 and market florals here is a nice shot of the bubbles as well as one of the happy tails flair s that i used you can also see georgie giving me a little side eye so funny lastly i added my wild one title which worked nice given project with the new 13 arts travel the world collection these are so my colors but it has a wide range for any place or activity on the map practically the beach or the mountains you choose for my base paper i selected this moment paper travel the world i also incorporated some fussy cut images from the our trip paper travel the world along with some of the awesome ephemera from the travel the world ephemera pack as always i first coated my papers with clear gesso when that was dry i pushed modeling paste through the new vintage newspaper stencil mask this stencil actually belongs wit another collection but i adore it and couldn t wait to use it i also did some random stamping with the travel stamp a6 and brown ink i ve also used a couple of the chipboard pieces from travel the world chipboard set and colorized them with yellow amber water ink and a smudge of the olive green from the watercolor set 16 pans set of watercolors love how the chipboard flower turned out of course i had to add some color to make the stencil work and focal area standout a combination of yellow amber water ink along with some brown water ink seemed to work the best for me towards the end after adding my embellishments i did some splattering with both brown water ink and white gesso 500 ml i added a few 3d balls medium and colored grit light gray with some gel medium some sisal and a few morning creative friends sandi here with you today sharing my most recent layout for the 13 arts blog i had been feeling inspired to work with the b side of paper birds and flowers paper in bloom that yellow damask like paper is so gorgeous i had planned to use that along with predominately teal but as always with the creative process i decided to add in some areas of purple along with the teal from the watercolor set 16 pans set of watercolors to pull out the purple in my granddaugher s shirt i also fussy cut some of the peach flowers from the in bloom elements a4 sheet so with the yellow teal purple and peach i had to be very careful not to get a pastel spring y effect i tried to accomplish that by using some more intense shades of the watercolors by not adding as much water at that point it was lovely but i wanted rust to ground it so taking the easy way i sprinkled some of my brown rainbow color brown and then spritzed it with water some areas are still powdery but actually since i like texture that is more than fine by me as usual i first coated my papers with clear gesso then added some gesso white acrylic primer 500 ml around my focal area i did some random stamping with brown ink using the avril stamp a7 next i created some texture by pushing modeling paste through the stencil masks his time this is when i began doing my color work what i really like about our modeling paste is that it stays a bright white unless you have already mixed it with color then i began adding layers to my photo with the paper elements below i am proudest of my fussy cut blooms because it s not my favorite thing to do when i m in the midst of a project that is what is nice about our ephemera packs however fussy cutting is fun when you are just relaxing and maybe watching tv movie or a video i finished with a few embellishments some 3d balls ecru sisal rhinestones from my stash and then some splattering with my paint colors and gesso white i hope you like it 13 arts february 10 2020 more valentines cards creative embellishments hello scrappy friends sandi here with you today sharing some more valentine cards before the season gets away from us whether you do v day or gal entines either way these cards are fun for a variety of occasions once i got my idea formulated i made both of these in a mornings time first i trimmed both cards to be 4x6 5 while i still hunt for the dl sized cards preferably a set of nesting dies and once again i used some of my fave graphic 45 papers place in time and here they are a couple of little beauties huh each one uses different portions of the heart pieces which were painted with an antique white craft paint then inked with vintage photo the sentiments were treated the same and are from valentines sentiments had i known up front that i was painting them all the same i could have saved myself some time by painting all the chipboard at once ha i had to do it the long way because of my indecision here is the first one and maybe my fave of the two this one is distinctly for valentines or another romantic occasion i ve used some of my old but precious and hard to find petaloo darjeeling red flowers i love the paper texture and am so glad to see 49 and market using that as well a few fibers and pearls and it s ready to give here is the second and i originally was going with a full on winter theme but at the last minute decided that i could add hearts and still use it generically this one was created essentially the same just different product i think that is about it for today thanks so much for your challenge hello scrappy friends it s time for another challenge over at creative embellishments i m excited about this month s challenge because it was created by myself a few months ago i love creating mood boards so it s an honor when nicolle likes my work enough to use it as the challenge image i ll share it near the end of this post here are the two cuties that i created from leftover graphic 45 scraps these are 6x6 but i did have some large enough sheets to accommodate that i wanted something simple but with a shabby chic look to them my original intention was to use handmade flowers but ultimately i was just too impatient to get my dies out and use them this was actually card 2 but it turned out to be the quickest one because i had already created my basic design these papers are from graphic 45s once upon a springtime these colors co ordinate perfectly with the other card which has entirely different papers here i ve used flourish heart frame 1 sort of in the center added a couple of 49 and market flowers along with a twine bow near the bottom i added the xoxo from the valentines sentiment set lastly i added a few flat backed pearls all my chipboard pieces were altered with walnut stain this card had a similar concept this was where i actually came up with a quick design after eyeing my focal point i clustered some valentine word hearts and a piece from the filigree corner set 2 around it then i added the floral piece and the twine bow almost as an afterthought i added a title piece in the left hand corner which was the word gift from the valentine word set again all my chipboard was altered wit walnut stain these papers are from graphic 45s a ladies diary collection still a huge fave of mine some pearls and leaves finished off the project so
