sins and heals all your diseases who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle s psalm 103 1 5 there s a gentle kind of joy that doesn t shout or dance or lift its hands high it s quieter than that warm steady rising from a heart that remembers david begins this psalm by speaking to his own soul almost like a loving coach calling out to a tired runner come on now lift your head remember who god is remember what he s done praise begins there not with noise not with music not with emotion but with posture the soul turning toward god again sometimes praise feels natural sometimes it feels like breathing but other times praise is a choice a gentle deliberate turning of the name the people back in those days so long ago needed a savior and in the fullness of time that savior came today he sits at the right hand of the very throne of god in heaven king of kings and lord of lords this is glorious but we re only just beginning to see we aren t finished with our investigation there is so much more to discover next time in section 3 we ll begin to investigate early
