try to do something tricky for the boys on aprils fools day in regards to their meals this year we had shepherds pie on the menu or was it i used cocoa rice krispies for the ground beef with green orange jelly beans for the peas carrots the mashed potatoes were marshmallow fluff then i torched the top it was pretty funny we had to meet dad at the bank really early one morning to sign some papers for the the practice so i treated these two hooligans to donuts afterwards the yearly buzz cut these two have been loving helping their dad work on their bunk beds this is the staining phase the finished product it turned out perfect the boys absolutely love sleeping in it sharing a room doug had a work function at a baseball game which happen to be the same night that was gavin s parents night out at school so we divided conquered it turned out being perfect getting some one on one time with our boys liam had a blast watching the baseball game with dad showing me his artwork that was on display i sure love this creative boy of mine we decided to make a date out of our night together went to chili s his choice for dinner afterwards he was quite the gentleman after dinner he ran ahead of me while walking to the car opened my door with his arm swinging out bowing down melted my heart the weekend after i had just been in san antonio with my parents i drove down again with these girls from my ward to attend time out for women it was a lot of fun getting to know them better getting spiritually motivated by all the wonderful speakers alycia christie me tawny this kid has a thing for ooey gooey cheesy sandwiches one afternoon while running into the grocery i noticed the gorgeous roses i decided to stop in my tracks have the boys stop too to smell them they took a minute or two to smell different ones expecting them to smell different gotta love it when we get to have a date night we went to see a comic and i can t even remember his name but he was funny we had a good time with our friends i got after gavin when i found that he had torn a page in his scripture story book a couple hours later i found this written on the chalk board in their playroom i am sorry for ripping the book of mormon ya gotta love his drawing which happens to be nephi giving a thumbs up we got a lovely little visit from our friends the carters who were in town for ryan s dental conference i met up with denyse the kiddos during the day at the dallas zoo gavin liam kinsley ryden kadence it was so much fun seeing them catching up with denyse i hadn t seen her since we moved from buffalo that night after putting kids to bed i walked by our room noticed this it made me smile to see them having a moment together all snug in our bed posted by rachel shaw at 3 21 pm 1 comment saturday april 25 2015 color me rad our family had a blast participating in this fun color run in fort worth texas our friends the warcups ran it with us too i m not going to lie the kids had more fun getting all colorful then they did actually running the race in fact at the half way point we turned around went back because of all the whining sigh i was just glad we did something together as a family starting to get all chalked up liam clara gavin gavin loved it when i told him he could lay down roll around the chalk look at all that white me traci the whole lot of us such a beautiful day to do something fun with friends posted by rachel shaw at 2 57 pm 2 comments wednesday april 8 2015 san antonio the drive to san antonio was only 5 hours so it wasn t too bad mom dad had rented a minivan for the trip so we had plenty of room and a dvd player to keep the kids entertained once we got there bumpa had some business meetings so meema i took the boys to the alamo they thought it was pretty cool looking at all the guns when gavin realized that this battle actually took place here he was pretty amazed we had to buy them their davy crockett hats david bowie knives we watched the imax of the alamo that seemed to make it more real for the boys we should have seen the movie first before taking the tour oh well live learn i had forgotten their swimsuits but thankfully being boys they just went in their shorts swimming at the hotel is always a blast that night after dinner we wanted to get out before going to bed so meema i took the boys on a walk to find some ice cream they thought it was pretty cool that i let them go out in their jammies ice cream sandwiches for the win cozying up with bumpa before going to bed the next morning we went down to the riverwalk to take a tour on the riverboat it was fun gavin asked a lot of really good questions to our guide i couldn t help but laugh when they held up these posters wanted for sassin too perfect when we were at the riverwalk mall there was a playplace that was all alamo stuff the boys ran up to me meema said they wanted to act out the alamo gavin was davy crockett liam was david bowie meema i were to be the mexicans this picture shows the victory of the mexicans as they lie dead haha after lunch we hit the road to head back home it was a really fun overnight trip memories were definitely made posted by
